1997 240sx auto to manual swap long time ago( never had any problems)
Installed qr yesterday now car won't start, turn key over all you hear is the relay clicking in driver footwell. So I took the starter off hooked directly to battery it engages like it should. I'm stumped, car has never given me a problem starting before I install the QR and now it doesn't do jack. Airbag light is on and flashing bc I dont have the resistor.
Is there something more to that harness for the cruise and the airbag that could be causing this?

all dash lights come on? I installed a timer and touched the constant on the dash support which popped the ign fuse.

Yeah you must have caused a short or something.

Thats what i was thinking.. This is one hell of a oddball problem.
I would check all the relays and fuses
Check the ignition harness maybe it came loose?

Also I tested all fuses, verified with ohm meter. I'm getting 12v out of the black yellow wire(trigger wire for the starter) out of the back of the ignition but obviously not getting it to the starter. I guess the wire may be broken between the ign and starter. I may just run my own to see if that resolves it.
I'm just lost bc it just mysteriously quit working after steering wheel swap.

ok check by your shifter there is a cable that will lock your car and not be to start. takeoff your radio bezeal and look down there should be a cable there pull it our or push it in dont remember but it should work

I'm betting it's just your starter.

Make sure your ignition is plugged in properly.

did some more trouble shooting..... come to find out the 12v source i was getting out of the back of the ignition cyl was hit or miss, replaced it with a spare i had and then i was getting a constant 12v everytime....
Now heres the kicker the starter was also bad... after replacing the ign the starter would just engage and maybe 1 out 10 tries it would spin. the chances of both parts being bad seems hard to believe, but that was the case. replaced the starter and it starts every time now.
Thanks for the suggestions.
