Im just trying to get some input on this. I have an s14 se model with a RB25DET swap in it. My goal is to hit 450hp at the wheel. I have been doing research and keep coming up with different answers on how much my internals can handle. what are some of your inputs on what i should replace on the bottom end to hold something like this and possibly 500 down the road.
From my search The rings will go first so def replace those.
Ill need to hone the block.
Will the stock crack, rod and pistons hold this goal of hp??
Remember this is an input question so please no bash and dashing!!

Stock engine will hold 500hp
need to have a real quality ECU and Tune though. PFC, AEM, Haltech.

but is it safe to say you will need new rings and hone also to keep those parts going for 500??

you should be fine up to 500hp on stock internals, anything more than that you have to start building your block

its not the rings that fail, its the ring lands on the pistons.
If your going for 500+ you'll need aftermarket pistons

So the crack and rods should be able to handle it fine?

for the 4th time, yes it will be fine, assuming your engine is not a turd.

Ok then killer. What do you guys think about pistons and rings? what do you look for to reach that goal?

IF YOUR GOAL IS 450HP THEN THE RB STOCK INTERNALS WILL BE FINE, NO INTERNAL MODS ARE NEEDED.
If your gonna replace pistons then you might as well do Rods as well.

You state no bashing but you REPEATEDLY get your answer or INPUT yet you come back with the same question?!....Your gonna stick to your findings SO GO DO IT why do you even create a thread for?? You obviously don't know much about the engine you have So why would you even want 500 HP for??....

Now this is with a calabration that is closer to a dyno jet reading, and the customer is going to dyno on one soon and let me know his results.

do your tuning on a dd, get your numbers on a dj
but with a nistune ecu, I did not feel at all that I was at a disadvantage. This thing was easy to tune! We used a z32 ecu and everything about it was predictable, repeatable and consistant.
