Seam seperating

I was banging my fenderwell for more clearance and noticed the seam closest to the firewall was seperating a bit. It didn't split completely apart.

There was a little bit of rust under the seam that I cleaned up. Is this someting I can just stitch weld to strengthen or just apply seam sealer?

make sure you clean the metal well, get any paint or primer off and expose the bare mteal, then stitch or seam weld. use some etching primer to seal off the bare metal when you're done, let that dry then apply seam sealer.
