Just got a s13 and its stock. Im wanting to keep it a dd but if a track is in front of me stuff wont break. Im thinking of going Ksport coilovers (control pros) to give it an aggressive stance. other than that im lost. i know that my controls arms should be replaced with adjustable ones. Anyone know of any kits out there that include alot of the suspension stuff?

any information will help

and please dont tell me to search the other threads, i have searched and wanted to see your own opinions on this topic

you only need to adjustable control arm for alignment... if you dont care about tire wear then stock arm will do.. i would go with zeal, teins, fuction forms type II, cusco and apexi

well im not trying to be a dick, it just like everytime i ask a question one any 240sx forum people just tell me to look at other threads, then nothing else. I have found other threads yes, alot of people on those are saying look at other threads. I just wanted nice conversation about your opinions on suspension.

If you are really interested in making your car handle and not drifting I would suggest heading over to the Nissanroadracing forums. Nothing against this forum but from what I've read here a majority are more concerned with looks and/or drifting.

Do yourself a favor don't waste your money on Ksports they are crap. Oh and contrary to the post above mine there are people here who do care about suspension. Some of them are also on NIssan Road Racing but the person above is a noob like you and tends to speak with just as much bias as you.

There are suspension threads here and you can learn I suggest reading them.

You can either save up about $1200 for some Fortune Auto coilovers that you can custom build and rebuild when they start losing nitrogen and whatnot or...
You can do this:

-Lowering springs *do your research to find the best for your app*
-adjustable gas shocks *Koni, Tokico, etc...*
-and sway bars *research*

You won't get too much of that aggressive stance but you will notice way better handling.

*my car back in the day with that set up to give you an idea*

Wheels were 15x8 +20 on 205/55/15 *the pic was really taken in 03'. Rockin' a real Apexi N1 at the time too! =P*

I have coilovers now but "That Setup" was hella good and fun. Getting an alignment was dumb cheap too. =]
But really dude, if you have any other questions... *points at search link*

It really is all there dude. =P

Just get powered by max everything and STAY AWAY FROM MEGAN RACING!! later in the years when your know more about cars youll be happy you went with this! :)

Also fortune auto and stance coils are good for the price and i doubt youll need the pro coils/arms so dont let thoze prices scare ya :b*

I personally don't like Ksport's coilovers, well... At least the kontrol model. They don't get very stiff and seem cheaply made in my opinion. PBM PRO is where its at! Max is that shit

MAX IS the shit! =] Ramen and Mountain Dew Code Red until I can get every piece of new gear they just made, haha!
Also, unless you've owned Megans, you can't really bash on them. They really are pretty good gear. I had a set of Megans for six years *before switching to Tien HR's* and have abused the hell out of them at so many events, and they are just now starting to show signs of age. Unless you're running some WRC / D1 / JGTC events, don't worry on getting some hardcore "Pro" gear.

I'll agree on the Ksports tho. They're pretty weak.

I love my ksports never had one problem out of them, there adjustable from soft to hard, go super low, and don't ride terribly rough. I guess it depends on what model you buy. I bought the 36 way k-sports, including the dampener, pillowball mount ext. The best ones they had at the time. This was in 2005, there are alot better companies out now that have better coils, but I personally have no complaints on my Ksports at all.

Megans really arent that bad. Ive been dd'ing mine 40+ miles a day for 2 years now and no problems so far. Great for the price.......... But really though save your money and ka-t

I find it crazy that I bought my Megans when you were only 11 years old Boost_Fiend, lol. =P
Enjuku Racing had just started to sort of make a name for itself around the same time and Orlando Speed World had just accepted having drift days on their oval track where they used to race school buses, cars with trailers hauling boats, and demolition derby cars, haha.

Man, I'm feeling hella old talking about this, and I'm only 23! Haha. =P

1. choose 2-4 sets of coilovers you would like to buy
2. read reviews and threads to get peoples feedback/review on the coils you have chosen
3. pick the ones that people seem to have the best experience with
4. Get some adjustable rear upper control arms for the rear (shit on megan all you want, but my Megan Rucas are solid)
5. make sure your front coils have camber plates, if not get some
6. Install and get the car aligned
7. Drive your low car around, and wait for the babes to flock

That should suffice for dd and the occasional track rip. If your looking for more adjustability look further into purchasing adjustable traction links and tension rods etc.

You're 18 with 2 posts so I'm allowed to comment here: If you've searched and couldn't find opinions on THIS forum then you're blind and/or stupid enough to believe anything some random person says. There's suspension threads and writeups everywhere.

Now that that's out of the way, listen to what Kr240sx said. Research what the parts do. If you find something you like then search all over for reviews. Once you buy it it's on the car for longer than you think and can be more uncomfortable than you think.

SUSPENSION = YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Just incase you missed a good write up on coils better than k-sport and not that more expensive :)

lol wtf that looks exactly like my 240 wheels lowering springs and everything wish i had a picture before i sanded it lol do you know what those wheels are mine dont have center caps

bc.

I would recommend rear upper control arms for alignment after you do coilovers or a spring shock setup. Alignment is important for more than just tire wear, it will greatly effect handling of your car. I can't say that you are just going to go out and break suspension arms on the track, it hasn't happened to me yet and I have mostly stock arms.

Haha it was simply a joking remark! if he is stupid enough to beleive that, then he's likely stupid enough to think that godspeed coils are the ones he should rock:rawk:

You just got a stock ~20 year old car as a daily driver.

You don't need coil overs.

Do yourself and the world a favor and replace your worn stock suspension parts instead.

Then learn to drive your car.

I'll add another one for SEARCH... The info is here and really not hard to find. But....since I'm already here I'll say my piece:

I'm a Powered by Max whore. I really dig their stuff and have it all except for the front knuckle mod. The PBM competition coilovers are great. May take a little bit getting used to the ride but for their price, I can't think of anything better but that's my opinion.

As far as their control arms are concerned, they're beefy. Kind of pricey compared to stuff you would normally look at just starting out (godspeed, megan, etc....) but they're quality can't even be compared. If you ever get the chance to hold just the PBM RUCAs and Megan RUCAs side by side, you'll see what I'm talking about.

If you just want the bare minimum, get the coilovers of your choice (pbm for me but I'm obviously a bit bias) then adjustable rear upper control arms and adjustable toe arms. Then start replacing all of those busted ass 20 year old bushings and ball joints. My 2 cents.
