i pay all my bills, car insurance, phone bill, cell bill, master card bill, and gas, food, etc...

when my loan came this semester i my mom paid my tuition but this time she didnt take it out of my student loan because my dad wants me to keep all my money, so i invested a few grand into GIC's... but i still ahve a few grand left....

anyways i work alot for a full time student and i want everythin under the sun...

i plan on doing up my car stereo but a beautiful Harmon Kardon receiver came into work today...

it 4-channel, with a sub-out and it's sooooo plain and black.... i want it soooo much...

i was seconds away from buying a small 2-piece nakamichi stereo the other day, but i dont think it had the power, it was 1989 model and it was just a mini system but it was sexy...

i have a pair of paradigm MKeSE3's and i want 2 pairs a kick ass 4 -channel receiver a nak cd player and  a sub, i think this harmon kardon would be great, what do you guy think..

i also want to trade up my s13 coupe for a dohc either coupe or fast back and do the stereo in there instead...

i cant decide... i have soem money and i have lots of stuff to potentially trade... my car, a sweet JL 12w3 and my whole existing stereo (marantz, infinity, yamaha)

this should be a time of rejoicing but i cant decide what to do....

help me out...

I wouldnt trade my car if i had an 89 coupe, with the money you pay for a newer car, you could put tons into your car now and make it better, unless your car is a royally fucked up beater.

Do you work at a car audio store? I never really figured it out.

i work a sweet little pawn shop, but we are the only people in the city who bu car audio so it all comes in here....

no my car is not a beater, it has the problems a 12 year old car has, but it's all power, hud, and i just got tear drop alloys and fogs..., and i have front and rear strut bars on order, so i need a s13 still..

Stick with the coupe! (or another coupe, if ya sell it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>)

Got any of the new pioneer decks in there, the #300 series?

actually this is the best time of yyear because we get all kinds of car audio, but alot of the guys with the good stuff know what its worth and dont give it to us...

i think it would be beneficial if you guys bought a few things through the store because we are great ebay sellers and you guys could save mad loot on exchange...

we have a few decks but the only pioneer is an old super tuner II, but it's $90 can$$,we have a decent sony deck before the exlpod line when the were grey.. got the remote w/ it and it talks to you &quot;FM radio&quot; &quot;CD&quot;

it's cool... we also have a decent alpine deck... it's last years ui believe, nothing too specia about it, we have the remote for it too...

we have a few great amps...

just sold a phoenix gold ZX450 v.2 fro $500...

have a kicker IX404, a great amp... a PPI PC250,

a sony 4x50 with led watt meters and built in cross.

just put out a pair of JL 12w0's for $229 in a box...
a pioneer impp sub, the black one, in a factory box for $229, it retails for $269 around here w/o the box...

if you guys need anything and your willing to get used stuff i wont rip you... we're pretty good about it if your not a crack head...

bing a pair of JL dub zeros for $229 is pretty steep for some used shit... but I guess that's canadian.... and ummm... 4 channel home theater? &nbsp; Are you joking? &nbsp; That's like 80s shit man!! Save some cash and get something that at least has 5.1. &nbsp; Not to say an old amp is bad I'm sure it's great quality, but unfortunatley with amps the technology (formats) change a lot. &nbsp;I'll sell you my Kenwood VR-4900 for $700!! &nbsp; That's &nbsp;a steal =P

That is a steal. &nbsp;I'm nto even sure you're serious.

i would never buy kenwood, flat out...

i have a &nbsp;good digital surround receiver &nbsp;(marantz) but i dont want surround, i hate it, i only listen to my fronts anyways... i want paradigms in each corner and a nice sub, no not kenwood, only &nbsp;paradigm, kef, or something comparable...

really.... the more i learn about audio the less and less respect i have for kenwood, pioneer, sony, etc...
they are no where to be found in audiophile mags... that tells you something when the worlds best speakers carry the name of the person who designed them...

i dont want to start an argument but check out he macintosh audio site, then you'll see what real audio
is....

some of these real stereos have an receiver and amp, then mono amps before you even reach the speaker, there is a high end audio shop near here and it's amazing... they have a few sony video products because sony makes great tv, vcr, dvd, but they're only audio is B &amp; W, KEF, Nakamichi, and stuff i've never heard of...

Dude what magazines do you read? &nbsp;Didn't you read that review on the Kenwood 5900? &nbsp;Kenwood makes some awesome receivers. &nbsp;Sony DVD players are not exactly what I consider to be quality? &nbsp;Have you ever actually seen or heard Kenwood products? &nbsp;Their Soverign DV-5900M is the most amazing progressive scan DVD player I've seen. &nbsp; It stomps the Denon DVD-2800, &nbsp;I mean if you have shitloads of money to blow on seperates, that's cool. &nbsp; Some how or another I don't think you do. &nbsp; Most people don't, so you need to buy an integrated receiver. &nbsp; And Kenwood has some just awesome technology, and I wont deny the stigma to the name... when I first looked at them I wouldn't even consider them. &nbsp;Until I compared them to a couple of others models in the $2000 range and decided it had the features that I wanted.

And as far as whacking off to pictures of $10000 MacIntosh that you can never affoard that is just gay. &nbsp;I mean you have to keep things within reason. &nbsp; My 240 is a huge ball of shit compared to a Ferrari F50... go figure. &nbsp;Probably because it costs about 200x as much. &nbsp;Same thing with audio, my Kenwood has a lot of very cool stuff, is it the best amp on the market? &nbsp;Fuck no! But is it an extremely nice sounding amp with loads of features? &nbsp;Yes it is!

in no way do i intend to argue, im relatively new to the world of neat shit...

but i do intend to have macintosh.... and i would never settle for something i didnt truly want...
and if someone says i can never have it, then thats's bull... i can have anything and everything i want if earn it, and im in the process of doing so...

and im surprised ive accumulated as much as i have considering every other student here is shocked when i &nbsp;say i have my own car..

but again this thread was meant to to express my love for cool shit...

one magazine i read is the Robb Report... thats pretty, cool... my interest doesnt stop at cars, audio etc...

i also have an eye for watches, and i may where a citizen now, but i'll have my Patek Phillepe and spit on rolex...

Well dude best of luck to you. &nbsp; It is impossible to have the best of everything. &nbsp; For 20 years old I own a lotta usless expensive shit. &nbsp; But I've learned in buying things that you can't always affoard what you want. &nbsp;I'm very familiar with audiophile spec, and the elitist attitude that comes with it. &nbsp;I guess for now I will just have to settle for a $10,000 home theater instead of a $10,000 amp.

I hope you're in college getting a good education or starting your own business or you'll never even be able to consider shit like you're talking about.
