long shot..but does it have something to do with the cooler temperature? Like something that's not sealing during the day is sealing at night? Does your car stutter or anything during the day, boosting at 5-6psi?

nope. no stuttering

depending on how much the air temp varies, you could gain a psi or so, the cooler denser air takes up more volume so its pretty self explanitory.

i dont know what block sealer your talking about, but if its the crap you put in ur radiator to seal cracks, i wouldnt trust it. all those little pieces of metal in that stuff could damaga your turbo if it has a wet bearing

it is normal to gain a few PSI whan it is colder, just change boost controller accordingly if it bothers you.

can't this also be traced back to using manual boost controllers? iirc some electronic ones will notice the temp raising the psi and drop it back down automatically.

the car has a mind of its own i swear. im running straight to the wastegate ( i have a MBC but i bypassed it till i put my fuel pump in) and lets see... i dont see significant boost till late in the 3k range. im thinking possibly a turbo to mani gasket? and need a response on that block sealer. (its the kinda wiht the little black beads

Not the turbo. The motor. Unless it's a race-only car, I wouldn't dump in "block sealer" if it is the waterjacket filler I'm thinking of.

please dont tell me you used block sealer on an sr20det! and using block sealer period in a high performance application is engine suicide, now you will never be able to rebuild that engine it is now garbage, these posts are hard to read sometimes...

About the different boost levels from night to day.

I run the wastegate line straight from my hotpipe, and I have only ever run 0.5BAR. It's been real cold at night a couple times this week, and I've hit 0.6BAR a couple times, with no controller.

I guess it's even more exaggerated on an S14. One of my friends runs the wastegate line straight from his hotpipe to the turbo and he spikes to 0.76BAR. He has an S14 with an S14 SR.

mine spikes to 7 instead of 6 when it gets cold, but then it steadies back to 6, a FMIC will also affect it more
