They absolutely suck for driving at night... Id not recommend them after driving with a supermade set and even somebody who made there own up with proper spot lights used for 4WD's the beam is cut so heavily that you barely see anything other than 'overall' glow.

thats the problem, once you install those recessed bullshit lights, you have no option other than to cut your radiator core support to mount and install REAL lights that have proper beam pattern

I have also been wondering about these, my understanding is that people use fog lights which fail at life.. So wait, has no one made these work? or a variation of these that actually provide a decent output?
is the problem that there no space between the lights and the radiator support?

Yes. Look at the picture. It moves the mounting point so far back that you cant fit a decent projector anywhere in there.

dunno, maybe it has something to do with the (lack of) space between the lights and the radiator core support
just an assumption, but whatever.. nothing a sawz-all wont fix...!!!

so you're basically saying that you pay people to give you props?
how much more if i wanted to give you a thumbs down?

I get thumbs up because I provide great service. I don't provide bad parts or bad work. You don't have to give me thumbs up. Regular price I'm selling those for are $110 picked up, for thumbs up I'm paying shipping and pay-pal fees.
Actually all those thumbs you see there now are free. About 10 are my friends and the rest I probably never met the people, they just saw the page and like it.

Those things are more expensive than just the supermade housings, which are only $266 USD.
And yes, I know this thread is old, but the supermade housings have a removable top to expose the entire lower body.

Has anyone else tried this? How well or poorly can you see at night? This so far is my favorite non-pop up look but seems like the lighting would still be poor at night

Cut your headlight lids with a cut-off wheel....
Make bracket for the light

That's what i was thinking he did waxball88. THose also look like some of those cool crystal upgrade h4 conversion bulb housings as well. =D Stock headlights from my experience were terrible.

So, have you guys just decided to ignore the fact that less than HALF of the output from the headlights would actually make it in front the car with that set-up, just because you think they look good?

To argue a moot point, because i totally agree. I feel like with a proper set-up and bulb the light output would be manageable. Not that it justifies it, but in general people slamming their cars etc. lose functionality but its for the "look."
Though you could argue headlights are more of a safety issue... With proper trial/error some of these set-ups could be doable.

Actual cut headlight with faux light set-up. I have a friend running somewhat similar headlights mounted on a custom bash-bar type deal and his light output is very nice. And more importantly not obnoxious

Neither, custom. He cut the lids and then made brackets for H4 bulb housings that sit low in the bumper.
