I just did a ka24de swap into my 1990 s13. As well as a 5 speed swap as it used to be auto. Everything is brand new, rebuilt motor and was running perfect before. Now it wont start, its the 5 speed wiring which is not even letting the car crank. I'm willing to pay a little something to someone who has experience doing this and can drive down here to Rancho , to wire my car so it can start. P.s I already tried jumping the middle plug by the fuse box it wont work.

your problem is probably the Neutral Position switch. Your car thinks its in 'drive' and wont start because of it. You will need to cut and connect two wires together I believe.

www.240SXTECHDVDS.org Home Page (http://www.240sxtechdvds.org) has many DVD's on how to do it. Also that same site has Free Factory service manuals.

There was also an issue of "project car garage" that explains everything you need to do. I believe it was the first magazine of that series.

Did your transmission come with that engine? if not, you may want to double check that pilot bushing, lol.

Yea when I put in the new engine it came with that motor. It'd be hard to get a first issuee magazine. That neutral switch I connected the wires, I probably did it wrong. Also when I had the manual 5speed harness connected all the dash lights wroked, with the auto harness it doesnt do anything.

Sounds like a ground to me. There's a few plugs you didn't plug in prolly. Search around for loose leads.

there are 2 small grounds on the head. One on the front of the head around the fuel rail area, and the other is on the back right. Hope that works

The engine has its grounds on properly. What I did notice was that the 5speed tranny harness has a ground which mounts on to the intakes manifold. But the auto tranny harness which is from the sohc doesn't have that ground. After I cut and connected the wires on the neutral switch plug and connected the auto harness it sparked at the battery. And my key wont come out.

i never mounted that ground. Mine works fine. Did you disconnect the green box AT under the dash? If you ever want your key you have to leave it there.

sounds like what everyone is sayin... i did this swap last year... there should be a light colered wire with a black wire that you solder togethe on the NPS ... don't understand why else it wouldn't work. also you shouldn't even have to hold the clutch down if you jumped that NPS to start it.

take off the 5spd wiring. I dont have it on mine. I just soldered some wires to the reverse switch. The connections for the AT and MT on the engine room harness with the fuze boxes was different.

Oh alright, the green at box is in place. I'm using the auto harness, I recrimped the two wires for the neutral plug and it still isn't even giving me dash lights
The fuelpump turns on though. I'm going to take the battery to get charged just in case again.

The last plug on the at harness which connects to a plug from the tranny I think is the speed sensor. Am I suppose to not have that connected?
