Ok i have acquired a notch top SR. I starting pulling it apart and i realized that the oil squirter in the front of the engine for the timing chain is broken, if i left this out would it affect anything?

I ment to say that the hole in the block was broke that the squirter goes into!

yeah thats bad, probably loose a good bit of oil pressure.

Maybe you can weld it up and tap new threads.

ohhh thats the timing chain squirter

Might have to throw a weld on that area, shave it down and drill it out

yea its the timing chain squirter! well i do not have a tig welder to weld it would it hurt if i left it out?

you'll have a drop in oil pressure and the cahin wont be properly lubricated and possibly fail early.

take it to a welding shop or machine shop Im sure they can do this easy task
