Mine was plug and play. Plug in harness I had converted and motor mounts and used the same 5spd drive shaft.

I'll get flamed my ass... the RB20 i want comes with manual transmission, ECU, Harness Wiring, A/C Compressor, alternator, complete block, intake manifold, complete head, power steering pump, coil packs, cam angle sensor, starter, throttle body, exhaust manifold, fuel rail, injector, turbo manifold, turbo charger, clutch, flywheel, pulleys, and the fan and of course a tranny. what more do i need or is that pretty much it?

theres a diff between throwing a swap in there which would look/run like shit and break every week and one with quality parts that looks clean and run reliable.

Theres quite a bit more for putting an RB in an S-chassis

Its not plug and play

How bout intercooler, bov, months of free time and dedication, and a very good temper. Motor swaps arent just drop in and go. That wiring harness is not for your s14 so youll have to wire it up yourself by hacking up the harness or buying a new one. Not to mention the motor mounts youll need to get, or wide band, or some type of fuel management. You deffentaly need to look into it way more

True, some people need to learn the hard way.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, While RB25s and 26s may scoot ass, the 20 is only mildly more powerful than stock and heavier than a KA. The car will be faster but hardly worth the work. Might as well start looking at new turbos and tuning options now.

Sounds like it'd be better for me to save up for the SR then instead of the RB20... i'm really wanting to buy another engine and put my KA on a engine stand and rebuild it badass with a turbo on it... thanks for the advice though i really appreciate it

How about another KA? Sounds like a pain in the ass to change stuff only to change it back. Just buy a spare KA and build that.

It's sure looking like you do. There are a number of threads and comments about how worthless the RB20 is and I bet you haven't read any of them. Do some damn research on your own then act, being spoonfed here isn't a reliable plan of action.

As for engine building advice, you're not the first person to rebuild and turbo a KA, do some research. First, come up with some goals and constraints/budget. Read and ask some people here, find a local engine builder and talk to him, read a book. This isn't that hard.

I know i'm not the first person to do that dumbass i was just asking your advice sense you think your so fucking awsome and i dont care if its "worthless engine" i didnt ask for your opinion. The point of these threads are to help people not be complete douchebag assholes....

I am awesome and you did ask for my opinion. Wait, sorry, you asked for my "advice", which is so much different than my opinion. Though, I never really gave you my opinion, that I mentioned that there are threads that the RB20 is worthless doesn't mean that's how I feel, in fact, that isn't how I feel. I did give you some advice though. Here it is again in case you missed it, goals/constraints, research, act, in that order.

I'm curious how much longer this thread will last. Obviously nothing more will come of it, but I'm guessing I'll get called an dumbass again and then it'll get locked. It sure seems the point of these threads is to be complete douchebag assholes, it doesn't seem to have a point otherwise.
