so Im swapping a 95 ka24de for my 89's ka24e using a s13 dohc harness, a distributor, intake manifold and gauge cluster.

question - can I use a s14 ecu and MAF or should I use the ones from a s13 dohc??

Wrong section man

but

u need s13 maf and ecu

ok I understand but could you explain why? I just wanna get a better understanding you know?

seems like it wouldn't run right to me...

s14 motors use different distributors than s13 motors do.

also the fact that an s14 is obdII and an s13 is obd 1...

ive never attempted swapping out parts like this ... but... if you could get as much as you can from a certain year that would be best...

just my opinion. could be wrong. who knows.

im a little confused... if you use the s13 harness... you might just be able to pull it off by using s13 maf and ecu. wouldn't mix the s13 harness with the s14 ecu though...

The 1995 ka is obd 1, ka's after 95 are obd II
I agree with you on the not mixing ecu and maf

Because if you run S14 wiring and others you will have some more fun time trying to get things to work than using the S13 DOHC parts. Period!

some year ecu are programed difrently 91.ka have the longest cam duration therefor the ecu is tuned for it. if u mix and try to match u car might run rough and mayb the fuel delivery or ignition wont be accurate. i would get an ecu for the year of the engine just so that you eliminate future problems. now if u get an automatic ecu for the same year the u gonna have a litle power gain nd rev higher. but it will run a litle rougher.

wrong. only early 1995 models are obdI. my 95 along with my friends is obdII

I guess you've never done this at all. I have installed S13 KA Longblock on S14 and S14 to S13 with no noticeable difference. Sure S13 will have a better CAM combo but I'd rather have a lower mileage S14 KA on the S13 anyday. If the cam duration is your main issue. It's easier to switch S13 Cams on S14 than rigging the harness and electronics to work on the S13 Chassis. I'm not saying by all means that it will not work. It's just not practical to do. Besides most S14 parts cost more so I'm sure you can sell the S14 harness and ECU and use it to buy the S13 parts you need.

well imma use 95 ka24de with a 93 ka24de harness(because the harness I got with the engine apparently doesnt work), ecu, distrubtor, manifold and a doch s13 gauge cluster

so Ill let y'all know what happens, I have been told it should work fine by other people on here

ok so question I ordered a manifold from 93 DOHC and everythings cool but there are 3 clips that plug into the AAC Valve and they all run into the same wire which I believe is off the wiring Harness but I'm not sure. What can I do to fix this, and/or what part do I buy to replace it?

Ok so if you look in the first pic I circled the two clips that connect to the AAC Valve and I believe the 3rd clip connects to where that red spot is(also circled lol)

In the 2nd pic I drew a line indicating where mine is cut.

So my question is whats the name of the part I'm talking bout lol
