Okay guys Im brand new to 240's... well anything thats not american:D. Im defiantly not new to cars though. so my question is is this 240sx look like a pretty good deal and if not what price would make it a good deal?

***98 Kouki Conv 240sx Clean!*** (http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/2458485203.html)

I was talking to him and he said it wasnt powerful enough to drift? Ive herd of many people using stock ka24de's to drift?
And sorry if I placed this in the wrong section I didnt know a good place

My advice, by a POS 240 if you want to learn to drift. You will wreck it and well, Kouki's are a rare commodity.

It's because he has 245's in the rear with a stock ka.
put some 205's on there and you should be ok. The welded diff will help.

it says its a conversion on the add. op, buy and and cruse in it or buy a pile of an s13 to run into walls and stuff. no point and ruining a clean car and waste your money

I was drifting 255 Direzzi Z1's on a helical with my SOHC last month on HTM, no problemo.

its all in driver skill.
Buy an older S13, weld the diff, lower, aftermarket seat and be on the track for under 3K.

Learn to drift, and buy a S14 next year to build in the garage.
keep learning/beating the piss out of the S13, keep building the S14,..... and the S14 will be ready when you finally are, and the S13 is just about in the grave.

have fun, kill gas powered cars, cause one day they will be illegal to drive anyways ;)

That car is not a rare commodity. It's worth about half what he wants for it.

I didn’t really ever plan on crashing it into a wall... but the thing is I just wanted a car that I could learn to drift and looked good but this is probably stupid and impractical. Would it be a good choice to just buy a s13 that’s like 1 grand or maybe at max 2 grand and build the engine and suspension so when I do crash it I can just do an engine swap into the new car? Sorry with all the questions I just need a little help getting on the right track.. because I know what I want. A daily driver and drift on the weekend and when ever im not working.

You will crash your drift car.
You dont need to build the engine for a long time.
just buy it as a weekend car, and not your daily.
have fun, smile through life.

I would be building it as more of a hobby and it would have to be my daily driver. this is a stupid question but does everyone crash there first drift car?

I didn't read the forsale thread. I also missed it was a conversion. Regardless, the kid will crash it and be out of a car. I suggested the S13 because it's well older and 9 times out of 10 beat to shit.

You will crash your car... You don't have the required skills acquired to successfully drift your car without crashing into something. Everyone crashes at some point. Something will break, it's the nature of the beast.

It's not like it's going to cost significantly more to fix.
