View Full Version : Stg3 KA clutch disc into RB20 worth it?

I have a good condition Spec stg3 clutch disc for a KA and I am wondering if it is worth swapping out the oem clutch disc on my RB20 for it? I know the diameter is smaller but would it be stronger due to materials for more aggressive driving? The RB is already out of the car so its not much of a hassle, just wondering if its much better than the RB oem nissan clutch.

Thanks,
Esteban

I'm sure you can run it and have no issues. The idea of running clutch disc size for a different size flywheel just doesn't sound right. IMO just sell it and get the right one for your RB20. If not then slap a KA flywheel to match. GL!

and keep in mind, using a smaller disc means you will have to resurface before you could switch back..
you should always resurface anyway.. but still.

Yea, I was thinking that too. But resurfacing wouldn't be for a while given that the clutch wud last a while, hopefully lol

plus its only like 30 bucks...
but the question is.. will ti be a improvement, do nothing, or slip...
scary lol

Honestly, you should just buy a new setup. A clutch isn't a fun job to do and there's no reason to give yourself an excuse to be ripping your trans off in a few months. I'm guessing by aggressive driving you mean drifting? If that's the case, find a 6 puck sprung or unsprung your preference and pick it up. You should be pushing a fair amount of power with that rb, I'd bet you'd tear up a 225mm Ka clutch pretty quick. If you wanna gamble, put the Ka clutch in but while you already have everything apart it'd be wise to do it all the right way once and not worry.
