240 Rebuild

Has anyone rebuilt there 240 themselves? or let a shop do it?  how much does this cost? im jsut curious?  What all does a rebuild include?new gaskets, piston rings, pistons, valve stems. umm bore over if needed(is this needed really?) what else guys help me out.

i completely rebuilt both my previous engines but headwork/ sleeveing and boring......get a helms manual and you can to ;P
