it was released 6/22/2001 and we all love/hate this show, but the truth is, we know all the quotes inside and out and (unfortunately) got most of us to where we are today.

blowing the welds off the intake, narc'ing someone out, VTEC kicking in on the S2K, etc...share with us your thoughts and/or favorite parts of this movie.

Daniel.

Regardless, no, DESPITE this movie's inaccuracies and embellishment of street racing it's an undeniable fact that it has impacted car culture greatly, and left many of us with fond memories.

Much respec'.

maybe because you were 16 when it came out. I had been driving my coupe for 5 years already by then and was embarassed by what I saw in that movie.

I was 8 lol, now in days I can't help but laugh at the graphics on the cars. But I still love the movies, cept the 4th one, worst fucking movie I've ever watched

"....MONICA!!!"

Or "See that light? When it turns green I'm going"

....I can keep this going all day

Umm... I was 15 when it came out and I STILL thought it was complete garbage. Then again I grew up around cars, going to rod runs and track events, reading Sport Compact Car and whatnot, so I was raised with good taste. ;) I don't really know how much good the franchise has done for the industry in all honesty. From F&F we got: Crappy fly-by-night aftermarket parts companies seeing crap products like APC, greater rates of vehicle theft, higher police profiling, higher street-racing fatality rates... Oh, and a really crappy movie franchise. So yeah... Thanks Universal.

I like them from the start, they never really got me into being the enthusiast i am today though. I saw the 4th one and then i kind of stopped giving a shit about them; that movie was horrible hahaha(Excluding that Skywrine).

Tokyo Drift is what did it for me though. Sick, stayed home on a weekend night, got super lifted, got some munchies and popped that bitch on. It was the S15. I spent the rest of the night trying to figure out what car it was and learning about the RB and SR engines. Up to this point i had no idea what a 240sx was and it kept popping up through my search. Eventually my baked-ass realized it was the U.S spec Silvia. 2 years later i bought a clean S13 for $950.

So yes, whether you want to admit it or not, deep inside you love these movies. Oh and for the 5$ who were enthusiast before these movies, STFU no one cares, you sound like those stupid fixed gear hipster douches.

QFT I liked all the movies except the 2nd one.

My friends and I go into these random F&F quotes when we hang from time to time. It definitely sucks to go out the night the movie us released due to cops being on every imports ass.

Bullshit! No one likes the tuna here!!!

Damn its already been 10 years. It just reminds me of how old I'm getting. :( Oh well, I think I'm going to go watch it in honor of the 10 year anniversary.

Ask any racer, any real racer. I doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winnings winning :coold:

I couldn't agree more.

I'm not going to lie, that first movie is a large reason of why I am on Zilvia now. It started my interest in car that could be modified versus just having a nice car to drive.

I used to go on the forums and complain about the old movies and how they affect everybody.. now i dont care. They kind of moved away from the whole import street racer thing.
i went to the premier of tokyo drift, had my s13 parked outside.. when the movie ended.. went out to my car and got tons of compliments.. yeahhh!!!

Nothing is better than the UPN type operation that is the F&F franchise. I loved each and every one regardless of the cheese factor.

Yup Tokyo Drift did it for me....I was always into minor bolt on's etc but once I saw Hans S15 in that movie I instantly wanted one, wanted to build up a RWD turbo'd nissan (always owned nissans) blah blah blah. Wanted to "drift it out" etc lol. But funds and the time wasn't right. But that movie hands down brought me to Zilvia and my S13.

My favorite quote was "THATS MY DAD", Dom saying it like a little friggin kid. Crack up every time I hear it.

And damn I was friggin OLD when that first one came out.....Being 30 blows.
