Sup guys. my ride has recently been overheating and the needle fluctuates. It gets hot slowly then slowly goes back down so im sure its the thermostat that needs to be replaced. I bled the system, replaced the thermostat and refilled with more coolant. My ride is still overheating. One thing i noticed is that the new thermostat fits very loosely in the housing. Am i supposed to put silicon on the thermostat itself to make a stick to the housing? Plz help.Thanx

when you install the thermostat, make sure the jiggle valve is pointing up at 12o'clock position.

what are your fan setup? clutch fan/OEM or aftermarket fans? fans working?

OEM. yah fan is working. also, the new thermostat is slightly smaller than the old one. thats why it fits loosely.

you should not put rtv on the thermostat itself. and thermostat should fit on the block with out much play. take the thing back and get new one if you can, one that fits right.

and also, you may have air bubbles in your cooling system still. the front end of the car needs to be jacked up or parked on a hill so the highest point of the cooling system becomes the radiator filler hole so that the air can travel to the highest point. and it's recommended that you have your heater on at full blast while you do this.
