copy & pasta

Selling my 1989 240SX Hatchback, base model. No sunroof, no power windows or locks, no A/C, no heater, (has power steering) and is extremely light! Bought the car a little over a year ago and was going to make it my dedicated track car (already sold my trailer) and as such the car is not smogged (never planned to smog it), registration is paid current. Reason I am selling it is I am buying a house in the next 6-8 months and the extra cash would help, and not having the car around to spend money on would be even bigger of a help!

There are a few quircks about the car the should be addressed up front. The car has a small exhaust leak between the manifold and the turbo housing, the gasket needs to be replaced. The car runs pretty rich (haven't figured it out). The seats are knock off recaros and came with shitty brackets / sliders. The only way I could get them to fit in the car is to scrap the sliders and bolt the seats to the brackets. The only problem with this is if you're 6'1" like me it's pretty uncomfortable driving the car. The remedy is obviously a quality (expensive) set of brackets and sliders. The steering wheel is one of those ebay specials the previous owner bought and I never got around to replacing it. Recarpeted the headliner but lost the spring that goes inside the rear view mirror shroud, so no rearview at the moment LOL. As well I had a really nice set takata harnesses that I just sold to a friend, so no seat belts either. Might be best for the new owner to trailer the car home so they dont get rolled on by the coppers!

And that's pretty much all I can think of. I've bought and sold a dozen modified cars in the last 10 years and always felt it was the right thing to do to let potential buyers know everything about the car (that I've learned or know of). As well all know there are a lot of scumbags in car communities!

That being said compression is solid across the board (welcome to test if you look at the car). It does not burn oil or leak any fluid. The engine pulls hard in every gear and the transmission does not grind. The car handles on rails even without a good corner balance. About another grand into the car, a trip to the dyno for some tuning, and a quality corner balance and it will be perfect for the track.

Starting price is $5500, I am open to trades but prefer cash. The car is sold AS IS, it will be the buyers responsibility to smog the car. This car was going to be my track car/weekend car, so expect a car in this type of condition (I would not buy this car if you are looking for a DD -- filling rattling stiff suspension and no A/C you'd have got to be some sort of masochist). Shoot me a email for questions/offers, don't be scared the worse I can do is tell you to go kick rocks! [email protected]
