Ok i have this overheating problem ive been trying to figure out for weeks now. My car always overheats only when i turn on the ac. Any other time it runs just above C. I can go out on the freeway at 100mph and it stays cool. Even when i go drifting for long periods at a time the car stays cool. Now i just recently had a whole new ac system installed(minus condenser) because i bought the car with no ac and i need it out here in the desert. Here is the list of what ive done to the car regarding this:
.New ac compressor with new clutch
.New ac bracket with pulley
.New ac accumulator(the canister looking thingy)
.New water pump
.New water temp. sensor
.New 2 row aluminum radiator(unknown brand)
.New Mizu dual elec. fans with shroud.(running straight off the batt. no relay)
.New Megan Racing radiator hoses
.Removed thermostat, for now.
.power washed the condenser and got all the fins cleaned out.
.Running a 40coolant/60water mix with water wetter.
.New radiator cap 1.1 bar(not sure if 1.1 is adequate for stock ka)
Now i dont now what else to do. Now im starting to think that the load of the ac is just too much for the ka and i might need another engine or a rebuild. The ac runs super cold even when it starts to overheat. The engine still gives out the right mpg and the power is still there. I hope somebody can give me a solution before i decide to pull the engine out and :rl:. And no i dont lose any coolant at all.
