so the 240 that i am swapping my sr20 has probably been sitting for almost 2 years with gas still in the tank.
what would you guys do besides dropping the tank to get this gas out? siphoning it out? or would there be some sort of additive i could pour in that would make it ok to run through my sr??
any input is welcome

Hand pump from walmart. 9 bucks. From fuel pump hole into bucket. Then check to see if you have any rust in there. Then do what you will with the gas

if your pump is still in the tank just use that to pump it through the lines and out into a bucket...
then dump it onto a fire

that gas is probably so stale your car wouldn't run lol. The additive would have been to add a fuel stabilizer BEFORE you let the car sit. Now it is too late. I guess if you really wanted to you could add like 3 or 4 octane boosters in there hahaha. I'm just kidding. Probably wouldn't work. :]

Go to a hardware store and get a hand siphon for like $4 or 5. Siphon it out, get a few beers and proceed to have fun with flammables

quick and easy way without opening the tank and using hand pump will be just disconnecting the fuel feed in hose from the fuel rail and route it to a bucket or something then just prime the fuel pump flow the fuel out. Reconnect and add fuel. GL!

Mine sat for three years with a third of a tank of ancient fuel. I did not care to pump it out, but I did add a canister of fresh fuel just to feel better about cutting corners. It started right up and idles fine.
By the way, most fuel already contains all kinds of cleaning chemicals and additives. My plan is to just drive and let the old fuel get diluted and burned out as I keep topping the tank off with fresh fuel.

the only thing is that my car has no engine or anything in it right now so i cant do that, but i pumped out as much as i could but there is still a little in there i couldnt suck out all the way, this shouldnt cause a problem right??

If you already siphoned most of it out then Just fill the tank with fresh high octane.
It won't be an issue.
Even as much as 3-4 gallons would still be diluted enough to be fine when topped off with a full tank.

My car sat for 1.5 years with 87 octane in the tank. Fired right up after we put the SR in. Granted, we drove it straight to the gas station to put 91 in after it started up.
Just don't boost and whatever is in there will be fine to get you to a gas station.

So... where does the gas go after it is syphoned out?

use the gas you syphoned out and pour it on some logs of wood. set wood on fire. issue resolved.
or you can just dump it down the drain :)

Please use hand pump out of gas tank. Do not use your fuel pump and fpr hoses.
You will regret that decision big time. trust me

I let my 240 sit for about 3 1/2 years with chevron gas in it about 3/4 in it after that long all I needed was a battery and it started right up with no problems at all still driving til this day.
dubbs.

Ran year old fuel through my car. It was fine (it was mixed with fresh stuff). Although, pumping it out would be a good idea.
Then use it to light shit on fire.

2 year old gas isn't the type you would expect to have the same detonation resistance as fresh gas, but still works if you just want to run the motor.
I had 2 year old gas sitting in an SR'd car that I syphoned out. I inspected the tank and it looked fine. The gas looked fine as well. I ended up pumping that gas into my daily S14 (full tank), and made a 350 mile trip.
