Are CORBEAU seats of good quality? In my Z forums i have read nothing but good reviews, but i wanted to check around a little bit more. I am interested in a set of blue CR1's. Is anyone familiar with the CORBEAU CR1 seat? If so, was it comfortable, supportive, nice looking, etc..?
here is a pic of them
http://www.corbeau.com/brochure/images/CR1_blue.jpg M.S.R.P. is only $399 a seat. Thats not bad at all, and i know i could find em cheaper.

thanks
Brian

i hate the fabric of the material used on them...its like a soft velvet/velour type that is totally uncomfy...even the bars in teh bolster poke your legs and hips....

i hate them overall

wasit size and use are going to play a big factor. I was looking into the CR1's until I read the SCC reviews, the Forza II are probably now going to be my seats of choice...

no not suede, and not alacantara...those are both comfy...

Corbeau's cloth material, whatever the hell it is, is pure crap i think.....seriously, it feels like after a lil bit of use the fabric comes apart from the seat cushion underneath, making pinching the cloth up and down easy to do...

i just put in a pair of forzas in my s14 and i love them. lumbar and side bolster support is awesome and they are pretty comfortable for being a non adjustable. i havent driven a long distance in them yet, which is the real test to see if they get on my nerves :D but as for doing their job as a racing seat, i say they're pretty damn good, and a great price too.

wow.. i actually got the exact seat this thread is about... corbeau CR1, yah i have to agree with Heartwork, i don't like the fabric that those seats are made out of.. it's hard to clean, like a regular vacuum doesn't pick up dust and stuff like that.... but for the "hugging" ability of the seat they are GREEEEEAT!! i'm a 5'7" skinny asian and it hugs me perfectly... if i get a harness it should be even better... just my 2 cents...

BTW, i got the all black ones...:D

How do you think a CR-1 would work with a 5'11" stout american?
thats my main worry about seats.

what kind of brackets are you using, how high or low are they

you probably want to get a bigger waist size

hmm... the seats hug me right near my lower rib cage, and the seats hug me soo well that it's kind of hard to breath seating in certain positons, like i have to recline the seat to give me some room.... so i think that seats might be a little too tight for you Brianglawson, but i think you can order the seats with wider lumbar supports... the seats sits lower than stock but i'm sure if you get the seats you'll adjust... not toooo much of a difference....

wntrcoatblu240 - How did you mount the seats?

Brian, Seats are one of those items where you get what you pay for. Also, make sure you actually have an oppertunity to sit in the one you are looking to buy.

yes it will last you forever but you might have to put more padding in it when you have it shipped half way around the world after some asain guy put 2,000 hours of seat time in it. :coolugh: Haha

Silly Pandas. This is why your dumb asses are almost extinct.

Godziras on the other hand have 2 brix and a whole host of other quality seats floating around on the other lizards' cars.

As for choosing a seat: Nothing feels the same as a recaro or Bride. Period. But whatever its all about the bling. Oh also, the $1000 Sparco rally-spec seats are niice. But their adjustable seats are teh sux0rz.

I like my forza one however the thing sits too damn high!

The fabric does suck, and im worried about it lasting... reminds me of nylon stockings...

I'm 6 feet and 36 inch waits, beefy japanese kid, and these things are a teeny tiny bit loose(perfect for daily) and these things sit high so I took the bottom chushion out and presto! sits nicely...

good seat for the money, even better if you like 5"8 and 36 inch waist.
