rent a car in honolulu, traffic is just like socal they have rush hour. oahu is the most populated island but it's got tons of stuff to do. hit up waikiki beach...um it depends on how much $$ you have to spend and what you want to do really. we spent a day in the north shore area, and another day in the honolulu/waikiki area. we did all the touristy shit but we had fun-if you're into history go visit pearl harbor. my wife got bored but i liked it. there's a big swap meet in the football stadium either every day or every week; go there if you want to shop for souvenirs. i forgot the actual name but we call it "hannah montana" bay lol, it's a spot for snorkeling. maui...I've never been there but i think that's where the beaches with black sand are...again if you can rent a car.
don't be a dick to the locals first and foremost.
OH!! almost forgot, find a good spot to eat ramen!

I was just there in October for my honeymoon. Honolulu that is. I would highly suggest renting a car and seeing what else the island has to offer. Honolulu can feel a little clastrophobic. If you make it to the North Shore, def. try out the shrimp trucks. Ask around for night life, it seems that if you're not a local there isn't much going on. I remember hearing the radio station saying something about Dave and Buster's..I couldn't help but laugh cause I'm from the nyc metro area but to each their own. Also, if you get the chance you should def. check out Pearl Harbor. It's pretty interesting. Have a safe trip!

try the maze at the Dole Plantation, it's fun. there is also an underwater hotel you can stay at for a night, but you have to scuba dive to get to it. I stayed on the North shore and went surfing up ther, awsome. there's so much to do. polynisian cultural center, swimming with dolphins, Pearl Harbor, etc.

STAY AWAY FROM THE ROAD TO ...hana...houna....something like that.
Unless if you want to touge it and die.
Stay out of sugar canes, go jet skiing, hiking, the Trilogy boat tours (if it's still around), fire poi show (i can put those guys to shame lol)
Several years ago I went to Maui and I island hopped. One island is so small that everybody knows everybody. Starts with an O I believe.
Other than that, have some drinks, enjoy the beach, check out the ladies and what not.
Oh yeah, bring money. Things are SUPER pricey due to it being a tourist place and it being an island. There is always Dave and Busters too, but why bother? We have like 6-8 of them in Cali anyways.

I HIGHLY reccomend going here. Its like a little hole in the wall. Get the huge platter combo that has everything on it and is well worth the money. You will not regret it.

I was just there (oahu) couple of weeks ago. Had bad ass time but like they said it will cost you. Went for some water activites ( scuba, wakeboarding, bumper tube, banana boat, parasailing), swap meet, atv then luau (paradise cove). On the atv thing i was expecting extreme ride but it was just a tour of this ranch called kualoa ranch. I got disappointed but it turned out the view was unreal (still did a little sliding here there on corners while guide wasnt looking lol)! It was located on the foot of this mountain and where they shot bunch of movies, u me and dupree, 21st date, jurassic park and other known movies i cant remember! Man, had to stop by at safe way so me and my friends could buy bengay cause we could barely walk with all those activites! Hahaha. Yuo'll definetly need sun block, reant-a-car and dslr is a must so u could apprecIate the scenic view! Lol
if you like sweet pastries/breads you HAVE to try Leonards malasadas. theyre all over the place in hawaii. one word: BOMB!

I'm currently in Maui for the next 5 days. Rent a Sports car for the 'road to Hana'. But make sure if you keep going around the island, you have a Jeep. I'm glad I did as the roads after Hana turned 'old'.
Watch the sunrise on top of the Volcano, its freezing cold, but worth it.
Stop to check out some hikes to various waterfalls. The wife and I took in 'twin falls', which actually turned out to be 4 waterfalls, and we had some areas just to ourselves, as most tourists were too lost in the woods to find the obvious paths up stream.
(there is many more hikes, and I want to take in Iao valley, as well as a few more yet)
BRING SUN SCREEN...I'm inside today due to a seatbelt burn/tan
I'm staying at a condo west of Kanapali, at a private beach. We have dozens of those 200 year old Sea turtles here, but I don't think you would have any access to this beach, so, best of luck if you wish to see them in the wild. There is always Maui Ocean Center I guess.

Yeah, if you are materialistic. Most those suits can be had in Makow China for $500, fitted. Why pay thousands when its the same thing? Exact same material.
PS, stance, BC, and HSD coilovers are all made in the same factory too. Don't pay more to be 'cool'.

Be sure to check out the Geste shrimp truck in Kahului harbor in Maui. I was there 8 days last year and ate there 6 times. Yelp it and check out the reviews.

omggggg that place is so good.... its one of my fave places on oahu. one of the best parts about this place is that the quality of food hasn't changed through out the years. (and i used to go there as a kid over 20 years ago)
couple people mentioned some good places like ono's and leonard's. go to waiola shave ice, personally i find it better than matsumoto's. but you have to go to matsumoto's at least once, its a tourist thing. i also went to mac 247 in waikiki last year. bring a lot of people when you go... lol they have some big ass pancakes. like really big. zippy's has some good chili. if you have a costco card and you like ahi poke, you can get quite a bit for a decent price there. they have it daily.
i can't wait to go again this year. october can't come soon enough!

Just got back from Maui. Stayed at a Condo for the first week, then Mekena Golf resort for the 2nd week. Hiked Iao Valley, 2 hours past the tourist spots for a sweet lookout of the valley. Watched the sunrise up the Volcano. Saw a billion wild cats (house cats that are wild, and co-exist with wild chickens). Maui airport security taught wife how to fight, etc.

20 year old tries to look more mature then 30 year old :fruit: I own a 5 bedroom house because I didn't buy into trying to look cool in-front of my friends.
