What is a subframe delete?

how does that work?

Its not actually a subframe delete. People are dumb so they call it that. He removed the front U-brace underneath the subframe. Its put there to keep the car from folding in when in an accident. Pretty stupid.

ACTUALLY that big metal U shaped thingy ties together the engine cradle to the chassie and front core support. KINDA importand if you care about suspension geometry and chassie flex/twist ect. just my .02

In terms of suspension geometry and chassis flex, removing the u-brace is not a problem. Many guys who Auto-X don't run that brace for the sole purpose of eliminating unsprung weight. The JDM Spec C RA doesn't have this brace from the factory. You can't argue that the handleing has been compromised on that car with the removal of the brace. The only purpose of the brace is as I said, to help in front end collisions. Carbing makes a very strong but light brace that goes in place of the original brace to help stiffen the chassis a little more but It doesn't retain the safety characteristics of the original part. And speaking of the engine subframe, the brace does not have one point where it ties to it.

People talk a lot of shit but to me your wagon looks decent ... glws

lol. Ok. there is actually 4 rather large bolts (14 mm) that go threw it to the engine cradle, 4 into the body (12mm) and 4 (2 12mm and 2 10mm)into the lower core support area and the jdm spec C ra does have this brace, in fact every impreza based platform subaru made has it ( cant recall the ver 2 and 3 jdm stis) including the foresters.

GLWS. if you dont beleive me take a second look at the brace.

have a nice day.
