Ok this is my situation i want my 240 to have some more power but at the same time be reliable. im trying to have a daily driver and the same time have fun with it on the weekend so i did some homework on everything and this is what i came up with. a rebuild for my ka24e with turbo kit and everything else that i have listed. i would also need to get my ac converted to r134 and fixed so however much that will cost me will be added to the ka24e build.

I got a blacktop s13 SR20DET (engine, harness, tranny, ecu, ignitor)

and pretty much all those parts your listed minus the battery and boost controller from Robert from Zerolift for like $3200.

however, most of items aren't top names like greddy, more like isis air intake/FMIC/exhaust and Megan downpipe/test pipe etc. but its half the price. Is Greddy 2x better to justify 2x the price (based on your $6k figure)? probably not

hit up Robert, he's a good guy and is on this forum

FOR KA-T:
i personally like the KA24DE better than the KA24E. also there are more aftermarket parts for the DE and DE do have more potential. for HG you can just use felpro(autozone) head gasket its proven to hold well over 500+whp. for metal head gasket it can leak if your block/cylinder head contact surface isnt resurfaced and completely aligned, this is one of the common issue. also $200 for z32 maf is overpriced, there should be people on forum that sells around $100 or lower.

for turbo, theres http://jgsturbo.com/index2.html this is more of a starter kit but it will yield enough power depending on your turbo option and boost level. you can go with isis for T2 bottom mount manifold, not the best but it will do the job. i say have an excel spread sheet of everything.

depending on your goal for example if you want 300+whp then i recommend going into the T3 turbo. T2 turbos are great but on the KA's it can be a heat pump which can lead to detonation. remember the key to reliable KA-T is tune/fuel, dont cheap out on your injectors and tune.

i driven both ka-t and sr and i love the torque on the ka better. there are more to what i said but you should already know. this is up to you to decide.

Like what 240sxva said, it all depends on you goals for HP.....if you just want to stick around 300-350...... I personally think the sr motor would be the easiest route......the stock block/internals are good for a little over 400 to the wheels as long as you having the right person tune it..... when you can get an entire swap for 2k plus the other essentials-exhaust, turbo upgrade, intercooler, walbro, ect.... you can easily price everything out for around 5k for a KILLER setup! the best thing is when you blow it up in 3 or so years, you just have to order another longblock....throw it in and your done for another x amount of years....
