External Wastegate..fire ring?

Kind of unsure if I did this correctly.

I have my wastegate installed like this:

And which way does the fire ring go in? does the recessed side go toward the valve, or the bigger side?

The fire ring should sit inside the wastegate and protrude from the flange roughly an 1/8" I have a v-band Tial but it should be the same.... The bottom of the valve should be up against the manifold flange.
