I need to removed and reattach the Pinion Flange on my Subaru R180.
By removing that flange, I am messing up my crush sleeves and pre-load, correct?
Has anyone removed their Pinion Flange before?

If the R180 is like the R200 then it's not going to hurt anything. Just when you put it back on make sure it's tight, and not overly hard to drag, and you'll be good to go. Follow FSM to measure drag if you're really concerned.

Anyone know where I can find the torque value for the nut?

I've also heard that if the Differential has shims, I'm ok.
But, if there are crush collars, I need to be very careful during re-torque.
Does anyone know if the R180's contain shims or collars?

Here is the FSM page for the R200

Most should apply to the r180

I've also heard that if the Differential has shims, I'm ok.
I want to point out that this is a false statement.
The shim's only provide a depth placement for the pinion (basically zero's the pinion in on the ring gear for a proper wear).
The crush collars on alot of pinions (do not recall if it is on an r180 or not) are to provide a preload against the pinion nut, so it prevents the nut from backing out and resulting in your pinion being loose.
