car problems

i have an 89 240 with stock engine i bought a few months ago with a blown head gaskets (or so he said) and i replaced that but now the car runs really rich and when the car warms up, i try to rev the engine but at first it goes down almost dieing then revs like there is a delay or something.

re-check your timing...

I checked the timing like forty times so i'm pretty sure it's not that,(but thanks) i was think of taking it to a mechanic but i don't want to put money into it because i planing on doing the sr20det swap as soon as i have enough money.
