Well, since were having baby any day now and need a 4dr and something to get us through the snow safely Irena and I decided to get a car we have always wanted :D

2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS

I can see why allot of people go from 240sx to Subaru's. Totally different cars, but the 2.5 RS makes me think its a AWD 240sx with more body roll :D

We bought the car from her dealership and the guy who owned it before seemed to be an "EBay Racer" so we have have to fix more things on the car. Such as its welded on muffler and ebay ignition wires. Otherwise he cleared all the corner lights and put nasty clear bulbs in them so we put ambers to remain acceptable.

Anyways, check her out!

...Sweet one Broddah and Sis!!!

Just in time for the Baby as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always had affection for everything made by Fuji heavy industrys. A Class act...and are the "Yamaha" of cars, different, funtional, refined, economical. Function before flair.

Damn good choice!

I couldn't track down a single 2.5 RS in the VA region when I bought the MSP. I am sooooo jealous!:D I have always wanted a 2.5 and almost bought one in '97 but passed on it and got a SVT Contour (I know, I know)

Anyway have fun and rally that beeeach!

FYI- Mazdaspeed still owns joo!:p

I haven't posted in a while, but just wanted to say that my father owns a 2001 2.5rs 4 door. Its a good car. Massive body roll. Tends to understeer more when pushed hard. that car almost looks exactly like my pops.

I always liked those cars, they look so much better than the later generations of Imprezas, except for that whole turbo thing;)

the St Louis region rallycross chairman has one, its faster than my 240 stock for stock at autocross(yep its all the car, nothing to do with me sucking as a driver:) )

Mark..nice car....try to put the car seat in the center if you can....safer for baby. If you are broadsided less chance the baby will be hurt. GRRRRRR hurry up and have her already!

Plans for the car? Hmm... were still learning about it, but im sure it will involve a turbo & crazy suspension, but that will be when the s13 is finished with its Turbo setup. :p

Lisa, We moved the baby seat to the center, but it slides around even after we tighten it as much as we can.

Hondaguy, ya the baby seats ive seen are for 3+ yr olds. Id get one, but kids grow to fast, and normal seats @ target have almost as much support as the Recaro's.

Mark, is the center seat belt like a lap belt? or is it a 3 point seat belt? If it is a 3 point one...pull it out all the way until it locks, then cinch it down. If just a lap belt, our moves a little...but we push down on the base and cinch it as tight as we can...good luck...hope that baby comes soon...and no matter what...STOP AND EAT on the way to the hospital...cuzz you wont be eating for a while....especially if they wont let her eat you sure aint gonna be filling up! hahaa

Great choice on a fine car. My brother and a friend of mine have RSs and have nothing but great things to say about them. You will enjoy playing with it in the snow! Im sure i dont need to tell you about NASIOC (http://www.nasioc.com). I hope to own a scooby again some day.

edit: Took a cool group pic the other day, thought id post it.

Nice ride, I always wanted a 2.5 RS, but hard to find and high price.

Did the JDM EJ20s come turbo? If so buy an EJ20 clip, pretty cheap compared to SR. SOKO (Irena should know what that is if you don't), had one for 1800 with some Ohlins shocks or something.

Anyways, good luck with both babies, and the old beater 240 :D
