My motor surgery has begun. Due to my thrown rod bearing, I decided to go all out on this. I got my JE pistons, Eagle Rods, HKS Step 2 cams (256int/264exh), ARP head studs, Celvite bearings, all new seals, my new turbo will be ordered this week (T28/T3 hybrid good for 400hp), Greddy intake manifold, 720cc injectors, Splitfire ignition, and a few other goodies yet to come. I'm also gonna knife-edge and polish the crank while its out. Now where's the beer!!

P.S. If anyone is looking for an aftermarket turbo that will bolt right up to stock, contact Jim @ Turbo Engineering (www.turboengineering.com) He is VERY helpful.

Good luck with the work.

What are you shooting for in the end with power. 400hp as your turbo is rated for? Or less?

Just curious.

You might want to reconsider. This sounds like :bs:

No bullshit here. I've seen the compressor maps. Very nice turbo. JE has a part # aleady set up for the pistons for the SR. It is 192737 which are 87mm bore. As for the turbo, it is rated at 415hp. Will spool at 2600rpm. I will not be shooting for the 400hp mark. I will tune the car for 350hp or so.

Well first of all, there is no such thing as a t28/t3 hybrid. A t28 already has a t3 compressor.

Seccondly what compressor map did he show you? Was it his own or a turbonetics one or what.

Turbonetics doesnt make t25/t28 flanged turbos. Garret makes them so it couldnt have been a turbonetics map. It was their own map. The turbo is an in-house turbo that Turbo Engineering cast themselves. He just did 3 of them for some SR guys. Call up Jim @ Turbo Engineering and ask him all the questions you have.
