Fuel gauge

hey, I recently almost put reverse glo gauges in my car, but decided to wait, but when I was almost doing it i moved my needles out of the way on all my gauges, the speed tach and temp gauge all fixed themselves but now my gas tank is empty when the needle says i have half a tank, how can i get the needle to display the correct level of fuel?

This was a case I had when I installed reverse gauges on my pal's 300Z. I remembered what the gas gauge read before I messed with it in case it got moved. You can try filling up the tank, that should put the gauge back to normal.
