Type X lights alternitive

Hi, im too poor for type X rear lights for my 90' fastback(all my $ goes to performence) but i was thinking of an alternitive. I know Douson and JDM Rice has done this, They made the yellow part on the rear lights clear. I think it looks cool but i have no idea how to do this. Can anyone tell me how to remove the light assembely and take the yellow stuff off. Im really bad with technical stuff, i just like driving, so the directions kinda need to be detailed.Thanks for your help guys.

Kouki 180sx lights. Not Type-X. Kouki. type X was a trim for all SR powered 180sx. other trims for kouki(1996.5-1998) are Type-S, Type-G, and Type-R. Yes, Type-R.

As Dousan's lights, there WERE JDMRice's lights given to him by Mike. Mike owns clearcorners.com and makes these products for a living. Pay the money for them, they are quality and very worth it. Seriously, he is one of the only people who knows what exactly to get and how to make them. And no he does not tell people. Not many. Heh.:D

Anyway, just paint the lower lights red to match the upper ones and call it a day. Then go drive your car, cause like you said, thats whats truly important.

I was asking a question about modifing my stock lights bc i dont wanna spend the $500+ plus paint for the Kouki lights so dont talk to me that way. Im not some wanna be. Anyways, thanks for your help guys

Nah, the lower part is molded in that ugly color. You need to take that whole piece off and replace it with clear plasitc (that needs to be formed to follow the propper curve. The hardest part is knowing what material to buy. Then you need to re seal that new plastic piece on to keep the agua away.

As for Mr. Meph, dont mind him. We usually keep him locked in a cage and feed him raw cowz through a secret trap door. But don't fuck with him. You mess with the bull, you get the horns son.

I actually didnt have a question about the kouki lights just so you guys know. I wanted to know about make may rear yellow lights ceal and thats been answered. And Yoshi, I really do beat cars that are a lot faster then me threw touges.I dont really wanna talk about what cars but ive beaten several turbo wrxs, fcs, and sw20s with almost 300hp with a stock ka but im not here to brag. It has nothin to do with initial d. But again, I wanted to ask a question but im flamed for calling them "type X'. But whatever maybe its because there are so many ricers that do some in here u mistake me for one. Well, thatnks to Drifto for his help again

ha, we should arrage a meet and see what we both can do man. I dont really drift eaither. I like road racing better. but i love both. Its really hard to drift right now considering i dont have a lsd. but ill get a vlsd like next week so yea. Since those lights are 240, i think id rather save some more and get the kouki ones. Maybe if I beat u, u can sell me Kouki's for $250?:bow:

even for $240, those lights are a great deal. the cheapest youll find kouki lights for is half that (unless youve got some sort of hook-up), and even then you still have to get a couple pieces painted which will cost even more. i probably woulda gone with the red/clear lights over kouki if i was anywhere near L.A.

haha NO. First off, beating me in a race is *not* an option. I'm stupid, I'll crash into you and try to run you off a cliff like that civic-driving bastard in Initial D (tape deathmatch, `member?). The pic you posted is an 8-series (I dunno if it was ever called an M8 though). It was a real car and it was a production model. I see them every now and then. Very nice cars. V12 power! :bowdown:

AFAIK, the M8 was only offered in Japan and MAYBE some parts of europe. It was a pretty wicked car and very very few were made. Out here in the US, they offered something known as the "M-Individual" version of the 8-series, it was a pretty cool car.. kinda a more customized 8-series with different color roof and subtle details like different stitching in the leather, custom colors, etc.. a friend of mine owned one, it was supposedly a very quick car.

thats an (E26) M1 (race spec though i believe). the M1 was sold from 1979-1981. the M8 was never produced. the closest thing to an M8 sold was the 850CSi. so i think what youre talking about is an M1. they were developed as a GT race car, and only 455 were made (399 production, 56 race). heres an M1 road car.

On a serious note, I found a 97 850 for sale for 30K and 80K miles...not tooo bad considering the car retailed for over 100K. Damnit....I want one of those sooooo friggin bad....I am in love with that car! I would do anything for one....Mikey keep yer mouth shut!
