Now, the next time someone asks (like, for example, a Mazda commercial), "Where is it written that only a sports car can behave like a sports car?", I may say, "Right there."

hehehe =)

I drive a del Sol. If forced to argue, I would be willing to admit that the del Sol is not a sports car. And, yes, my old 240 coupe definately was. And the Miata definately is. But that commercial refers to some other car. Some non-sports car.

Similarly annoying is the "What happens when an SUV is raised by a family of sports cars?". My response to that is, "Well, it'll suck and not stand a shot in #### of getting up the smallest of mountains."

I dunno. Some commercials just really bug me.

For the record, I don't own my del Sol for the way it drives. I own it for the "fun-factor" of stowing the roof in the trunk. That's the best. =)

ps: Now, even my sig should make sense.

Well, your sig, as well as the fact the car in your avatar is a Del Sol.

Speaking of commercials that bug me, what about those one with SUVs that can hang with sports cars, like the durango pulling a boat that keeps passing a porche on the highway. Or the Denali on the race track. WTF? Ok so you have lots of horseower in your over weight, over priced, too tall, gas guzzling, never gonna tow anything SUV. Congratualtions. If you wanted something with a carlike ride, that handles like a car you should have bought a car.

I don't have a problem with SUV's that get used (carrying 6 people, of hauling stuff, towing, <cough> going off road <cough>, etc), but to commute by yourself in a suburban is ridiculous.

thats never gonna tow anything....what are you talking about thats why people buy suv's. if you havent noticed a lot of people own boats, rv's, or something else that needs to be trailers. thats the reason why people buy suv's. thats why my family has one (we have a boat, great for the laides). the only people who buy suv's are the soccer moms who dont tow anything they just like the way they look in them. and dont go and tell me that the majority of suv owners are soccer moms because the kinds of suv's that were talking about are mostly owned by men (full size) soccer mom suv's are seqoias, excursions, and those little mini suv

yeah, there was a tundra commercial vs. a yellow Espirit V8 in the quarter. they leave the tree and the lotus just works the tundra, but then the track goes from asphalt to off road, and the lotus spins out.

what a dumb commercial...

Looking up "towing a trailer" in my owner's manual is pretty funny. An entire page is devoted to the following..

Your vehicle is not designed to tow anything. Doing so may damage it.

That's it. A whole page. It's in the index and everything. I dunno, I thought it was funny.
