I've got a D21 pickup flywheel I'm attempting to install. i had all 6 M/T fly bolts in and when I started torque'n them, when I move to one I already started tightening it would be loose again. I know I read about popping off a pin on the crank somewhere but I see NO pin there, WTF?

I'm also using the M/T dust backing plate. What gives?

Any help is super appreciated. I'm under the car currently...

i havnt looked into swapping the flywheels, but that sounds like the threads are stripped :( Hopefully just on the bolt, but maybe on the crankshaft

Could be that the flywheel isn't completely flushed out on the crank. Get a scott brite pad, spray it with wd40, and scrub the guide hole on the flywheel and then the shank that the flywheel fits over on the crank. If you are striping out bolts you have a huge issue...

Now I'm not even sure the flywheel is correct. I bought it off the forum used. It only has 6 holes for the clutch plate. The d21 is supposed to have 9 holes. I pm'd the member I got it from, and he said.it is a d21 flywheel. Anyone on here know if there are.different d21 flywheels?

Figured out problem, this can be locked now.

I was sent incorrect D21 flywheel, apparently the earlier ones have only 6 holes for clutch cover & have smaller bore hole where it slides onto crank.

Just go with 93' D21 flywheel for KA and you will be good!

just bore out the center with a dye grinder or dremel. worked fine on mine and my friends

Yeah, except the fact that I have a 9 bolt clutch cover for my clutch.

I'd much rather have the right part.

did you cut the hump of the manual dust cover?
