I've looked around the forums and havent found anything that would help me out. so if anyone can or give me some advice i would greatly appreciate it.

I have a 91 240sx hatch (http://zilvia.net/f/#) with a stock KA.
Ive been having all kinds of issues but have fixed them and corrected all of them. It all started with the car (http://zilvia.net/f/#) sputtering while driving figured out the problem and it was a clogged up fuel filter, then a couple weeks later my fuel pump went bad. I replaced that.
This problem seem to start last summer and it seems to always happen on a hot day..

Im driving on a hot day in heavy traffic. I was going about 70mph for about an hour then traffic slows down. then it was stop and goes from there. after about 15min of that my car started sputterring really bad. it shut off on the highway, i managed to started back up and pulled over to the emergency lane. i checked everything i could think off. and everything seem to be fine. my car started up after a while of just sitting there and i was able to drive it home. I did a full tune-up on it, oil change (http://zilvia.net/f/#), changed the MAF, cleaned the throttle body anything having to do with air induction, i cleaned it. I drove it fine for a while, then weather started getting a bit cooler and it drove fine.

but just recently it got hot again, and my car started doing the same thing again. after driving for a while on the highway i come to slow traffic and after a couple minutes it starts sputterring. I cant seem to figure out the problem. It seems to me that it does this on a hot day on the highway in slow traffic. becasue im stuck in traffic all the time, but drives fine on non hot day. it drives fine on a boiling hot day on the street.

any help or advice becasue im completley lost and have no clue what the problem might be. thanks in advance

Im adding more info as of today 11/17/10 -
the same problem still keeps happening. ill try to be a bit more detailed of when i notice this problem.
yesterday i ran the car back home, about 50 miles. it drove perfectly fine at about 70mph. the weather was prety warm, so traffic started picking up and i decided to exit and take the streets becasue i didnt want to run into this problem. it drove fine for about 10 min. then it started sputtering, i pulled over just sat there about 30min. and took off again. and the same thing happened about another 15 min later. i sat there about 10 min then left. then one more time close to my house it did it again,. so i came to notice that this happens on a warm day like i mentioned. after going uphill. its takes off fine on 1st. as soon as i shift to 2nd it starts sputtering really bad. so i pull over . and i also noticed that in about 15 min. the car can be driven again for a bit depending on how hot it is outside. so could there be something that is getting really hot thats causing this?? becasue like i mentioned, after sitting there for a bit just cooling down it drives fine.

PROBLEM STARTED ONCE AGAIN 6/2/2011

So I had posted this issue last summer becasue it was getting really annoying and yesterday it started happening again.

Things that I have done to the car recently has been:

I rebuild the engine (stock KA dohc) i thought it might if been that since it had high mileage
I replaced every sensor the engine has with new ones just to make sure
I made my car rhd
I dont see these things affecting it since it used to do it before I did all this.
So yesterday I was driving my car on the highway about 70 mph the most for about 30min. Traffic picked up and it was stop and goes for about 20 min. When I was about to get off on my exit i felt my car pulled and jerked pretty hard but at first i thought maybe i released clutch to soon ..i dont know.. i got off on my exit and as i the light turned green i accelerated to go and car started sputtering like it was choking really bad.. I tried as best as I could to get to the other side and pulled to the side. I tried to turn the vehicle on but it would just sputter and shut off. I checked everything from oil, coolant, maf and after like 15min of car been off it turned on no problem and i drove it home.

This same thing was happening last summer when it was hot, it seem to do it on hot days, becasue i drove it all winter no problem. now that its starting to get hot i want to fix the issue before it becomes a daily thing.

any help would be much apreciate it, cus i am soooo lost. and no one seems to know what is going on. thanks for reading this long ass post but i tried to be as detailed as possible.

thanks in advanced

Sounds like distributor, cap and rotor, spark plugs / wires etc. Something to do with that. I'm assuming the ECU is not giving any codes?

edit:

Are you venting your gas tank? If you removed your charcoal cannister you need to make sure you DON'T block off the vent from the gas tank. When you go to fill up your tank you aren't suppose to hear a loud WHOOSH of air. If there's too much pressure building up in the gas tank it will kill your pump, ESPECIALLY in the hot weather. A friend of mine was having a similar issue with the hot weather and his car was starting to screw up badly once it warmed up good.

i replaced distributor, distributor cap and rotor, did a full tune up, replaced injectors, ecu is not throwing any codes as of yet..
about the gas tank stuff, i had replaced the fuel pump about a year ago and fuel filter, and i dont hear any of the stuff u mentioned..reason i had replaced it was becasue a couple times car wouldnt start and figured it was that

But are you venting your tank? Do you hear air come out of your tank when you loosen the fuel cap (after driving for awhile)?

What sensors did you change already? Since you say it only does that problem when it gets really hot means that a sensor somewhere is probably getting/building too much resistance due to temperature changes causing it not to function properly. A faulty TPS could cause similar symptoms. That or even a faulty ECT sensor. Double check all your sensors.

I forgot to add, check your wiring harness for any shorts or melted wires.

I find it a little hard to imagine that the check engine light would not be triggered with whats going on. Are you sure that it is working? The light should turn on for a few seconds when you first turn the car on even when there is nothing wrong.

Im bumping this threat becasue this same issue happened again today. Its been cold lately and everything was fine until it started getting a bit warm again. Car hesitates while maintaining speed of about 70mph, then picks up again. As i hit traffic (bumper to bumper) car started sputtering really bad and had to pull over to the side. Let the car cool for 10min and runs fine until i have to slow down again or get off the hwy. Any ideas anyone?

What's your fuel pressure when its sputtering? Also, did you change your fuel filter? This almost sounds fuel pump related to me. Do you frequently run on E? Always good to fill at the 1/4th mark so that the fuel pump doesn't overheat.
