I'm looking for a good tire on the street, the track and in the rain. It also should be cheap :) I know this sounds like a dream tire but I want something asap for sunday. My currents are 225/50/16 and since I'm only changing 2 I need to keep that size. I'd like to spend under $280ish

I've called some local places and here are some of the models I've got quoted on. Any input appreciated

Kumho Ecsta AST
Toyo Proxes 4
Hankook V2, V4, HR2 (couldn't find V12 =[ )
Falken ZX912 (Price kind of high, $340)

K cool but I'm looking for something to get by Sunday so I'd like tire recommendations or opinions of the ones I posted, not the distributor.

Proxes is ok, the Ecsta is ok, the Hankook's are solid choices, but damn stay FAR away from those Falken's.

If you are gonna get Falken's stick to Azenis.

For best performance vs. price I hear the Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs are what's really good atm.

+ 1 on the Star Specs. Get them from Tirerack.com. Another options would be Nitto NT05, Falken Azenis RT-615s or Federal RS-Rs.

Definitely take the Proxes off the list.

My choices would be:
Star specs, Yokohama AD08, Bridgetsone RE11, or the Ecsta

Not that I've been to passatworld or expect it to yield any excitement, but you can check this:
