Well i recently bought coilovers for my 95 240sx and the front was raised a lot and it sits high... but the back is still very low... i have adjusted the height by turning the rings to push the spring up 7 turns from the bottom... and its becoming difficult and it is still very low but i could probably keep doing that a few more rotations but would it be easier to just turn the bottom (take of the bolt holding it) and spin that (i know its easier) but would it be difficult because then i when its jack up (and there is no pressure) how am i suppose to attach the bottom bolt because it is now too long to bolt with out pressure to the coilover, and they are too hard to push by hand... just if any one else did something like this please share your methods on how you did it

-thanks!

Sounds like you were adjusting preload on the spring, not the ride height.

What coilovers are you running? Here is a basic guide that should help you:

I'm using knock off coilovers (cx racing you'll find them on ebay) but i know what you mean now and that link helped... all i was doing was making the spring tighter, barely affecting the ride height... what i need to do it change the bottom part and unscrew/screw that to change the ride, which makes more sense. Thanks man!

yea, loosen the spring preload.. you don't want it too tight nor too loose, just hand tighten the spring preload then lock the rings. Adjust the height from the bottom.

Yup. Loosen the bottom collar, make sure the two collars under the spring are tight against each other, and use a spanner wrench/screwdriver and hammer to raise or lower the car by turning the collars under the spring
