will i be able to run a 17x9 +12 wheel with 265/40 tires on a s14 without rolling or pulling the fender? will i have clearance inssues? i would like to lower the car so there's no wheel to fender gap or maybe a finger gap. Also would it sit flush or will it stick out? thanks

235/40 or 215/40, 265 is too much tire for the desired height that you want.

If you want a wide tire without fender modification or crazy negative camber you need a much higher offset. I would probably go for a 17x9 +45 or so with 265/40 on stock fenders. If you are on coilovers you will obviously have clearance issues with the springs. Good luck.

Yeah search the max tire sticky thread, your looking for mid 30 offset. I had 18x9.5+38 on 275 in the rear, no clearance issue (with springs). With coilovers a low 30's would clear the coils but would still need fender rolling/ maybe a slight pull.

If you're planning on running a higher offset wheel, think about the front. The front is what makes it tricky. Either you'd hit the fenders with big ass tires or you'd hit the suspension of too high of an offset rims.
From personal experience, I've run 255/40-17 all around on 17x9 +22 rims. Rolling the fenders will depend on how low you are.
