View Full Version : Nardi classic fake?

Hey guys

I recently sold a Nardi 360 classic to midwestmyriad here on zilvia.

He recieved the wheel and immediately pm'd me to tell me the wheel is fake?

Now I had NO idea if it was fake, ive owned 5 nardis before and the quality was just the same as the others (i can pull the weight of the car and it wont bend, leather is still tight etc)

Im looking for others feedback on this

This wheel came on my car from Japan, It came with very many high end parts on it as well and no knockoff parts. as well as everything on my car is many many years old, example has an re-amemiya kit from 1995 on it, and seemed to have just sat forever before coming to canada.

here is the exact wheel i sold:
The buyer says the spokes are not tapered and that the top of the wheel is a different shape.

My question is, can anyone tell me if this is fake or not? Did old nardi classics have non-tapered holes?

The buyer has left me negative feedback and wants to file a paypal claim, I had no intention of "scamming" him. I just need some expert input.

You'll win the Paypal claim as long as you proved that you shipped it. Paypal transactions benefit sellers, while eBay benefit buyers.

Guys please keep it civil,
Also, I dont want to have to resort to paypal if i can prove this is real.
Also the very first picture is THE SAME EXACT STEERING WHEEL I SENT OUT. yes it says nardi, but fakes do also.

again, this is the EXACT wheel, you can see the quality of it.

First of all, thanks for your input.

Second of all I'm just saying the wheel seems fake now that I have it. Especially when compared to another Nardi Classic side by side. If there are two versions (older Nardi and newer Nardi) I was unaware. I just want to find out if the wheel I have is real or not.

Looks like a legit older Nardi.

Here's a pic of the white version of the same model.

That's a real one. I have had a real and a fake and you can tell the difference immediately. With the fake the feel sucks, and I could bend them with little force when it is on the car. The real one on the other hand feels great. The stitching also shows which is real and which is not.

carmaniac1993

that wheel is completely REAL.

ill admit, i bought a knockoff nardi, and it was cool. then traded for a real

nardi 360 classic. soo much of a difference in weight, texture, and just

over all quality. for example on the fake one, when you would put lots of

pressure on it, it would bend and the leather was completly seperate from

the wheels circular core.

bottom line, its REAL.... lolz

Looks legit too me also, I used to have an older Nardi wheel. They're very sturdy and the material doesn't damage easily.

Name dropping has nothing to do with it guy, it was the fact I thought I paid the amount I did for a knockoff wheel, once again, thanks for your input though.

Stop talking out of your ass.

Yes.

Well that explains it I guess, the Nardi Classic we were comparing it to was just a newer model I guess, regardless of what anyone says at least I got an answer fast, I will apologize to the seller though. I would expect anyone who had doubts to do the same, I earn my money and like to see it go to legit stuff

you should lol if it's fake it will wear fast and bend on you and that's something you should care about especially if you're drifting for real... and it is real it's just an older model as stated above. If it stays intact and in the same condition for years to come then you most likely have yourself a classic Nardi wheel jdm as fuck... feel proud and brag until the day you die. God is good mane!

Fakes can say the brand anywhere... It's the sturdiness and stitching that tells the story no matter if it's a Nardi or a Sparco. Quality is key. Nismo4life :2c:

did you not see it before you bought it or something? if you preferred the newer style why did you buy the older one? not too mention that was a dick move to give the guy negative feedback and accuse him of ripping you off. Especially because a quick thread and some research would have told you that you were wrong.

MidwestMyriad
06-01-2011, 10:52 AM
Did you not read the rest of the thread? I did research, like I said I didn't know there was an older style so the Classics I was finding on google were the newer style, by the angle of the pictures, I just didn't realize it, like I said I'll be taking the necessary steps to remove feedback, I know it was a hasty decision but oh well. So thanks for your comment. Thread can be closed, answer was found, problem will be resolved between myself and seller.

Your Nardi wheel is authentic. You can tell by the:

1. Leather
2. Stitching
3. Metal

Fake: Leather is lower quality Pleaather
Fake: Stitching is not tight
Fake: Metal is low end aluminum and the finish looks cheap

Your Nardi has Aged leather smoothness, stitching is tight and the threads are high quality, the aluminum and it's finish is good quality just from looking at it. The tightness of the leather is also a key indication it is old and authentic.

Go look at the "fake" nardies and you can see the difference, night and day.
