So I am swapping in this VLSD I just serviced and cleaned up that locks up great. Is the plug on the end the ABS sensor?

Any ways on to the driveshaft, as you can see there is like a blown up bushing, does this throw it out of balance or make it not safe, or is it just fine the way it is? If it needs the bushing pieces replaced I will just get a 1-piece lightened one.Now what I am thinking is, if I bye one for my ABS vlsd diff if that diff burns out can I swap in a new aftermarket one? because I saw the Kaaz is suppose to go in the non-vlsd gear casing or shell whatever it is. And if that is the case for all others such as Tomei or nismo should I wait on the driveshaft till after the diff dies and I will use my open casing for the new aftermarket diff gears? If that does not make sense please let me know if i need clarify, thanks.

u have to replace that carrier bushing if you're gonna use that driveshaft, without it on a multi piece shaft it"ll just flop around. very unsafe

Okay great thanks for your reply, any idea how much these bushings cost? And does anyone have any input regarding diff length for aftermarket diffs if this one in fact dies? Also a SR swap is coming eventually but I heard SR and KA Driveshaft are the same is this correct?

You have a ABS DIFF, I can tell that because yes, thats what that plug is.

I would replace that drive shaft with a 1 piece drive shaft from the driveshaft shop. I have one for a ABS car if you are interested. PM me a price, because I technically need a non ABS one. (they are different size)

1 piece it is then!
Now my question is, will the length work with KA and SR?
-And is it worthwhile buying a ABS length? Can I buy aftermarket diff gears that will go in this carrier?
Thanks for your help guys!

The driveshaft length will be the same for the SR and KA, that 1/2" the VLSD snout adds is the problem. I originally had a VLSD unit in my S14 and a 1 piece shaft. After installing a KAAZ unit into a non-ABS housing I was forced to make this 1/2" spacer.
