It really annoys me too see an allmost perfect weight balence, Shatterd by some one slopping in a V8 like that. Of course we are all intitled to are own Idea of what a "good" 240/180/Silvia is, but come on people....:p

All in favor of telling this guy to STFU?

All opposed?

Settled. Motion carried.
350SX sounds awsome, cant fuck with that. Think McKinney MS had a better idea with the LS. Thats seriously ingenious and one very sick custom job. Now we just sit back and wait for the HEMISX... :-D

Actually it would be a 570sx if you go by liters like Nissan does. Still very nice. Could've went FI and gotten rid of the cowl induction hood and then it would definately catch some people by surprise.

I get off the third Blackwood exit on 42 South in Jersey....why?
im sorry, Im a prick but seriously, if you build a 240 with the 350 or LS/LT1 do you REALLLLLLLY think they're concerned with the weight balance?
hell if anything that should keep the nose down during the 12second runs i KNOW it has to be pulling...

If that thing can run a 12sec pass...with thoes 15's on there..WOW!! is all I will say... However "Despite the weight increase the car handles the same as it did before" Is quite funny.

Small blocks don't weigh that much. You make it seem like he's putting a freakin anvil in his engine bay. Also why is it so difficult to imagine a 12 second pass on 15's? Do you think he needs chrome 20's to be 2Fast2Furious? It already comes with a shogun terminator mach 5 wing.

are you ignorant, stupid, or both? My roommate is a Fox-body nut and I know plenty of F-body guys with some NICE cars. V8s weigh a Sh!t-ton, if you think they're "light" you're an imbecile. seriously. Smallblocks by themselves weigh almost as much as my SR or an NA KA with transmission.
I will again say, LAME.
Why buy a car built for handling just to trash all that for some lamer drag crap? Just buy a freaking F-body to begin with or build a damn tube-framer if you want something custom.
And there is no way in hell that car "handles the same as before." That's about as accurate as F-body and Mustang guys saying their overweight live-axle cars will handle as well as my S13 or my dad's 951. Just absurd.

cool idea, gonna need wider wheels to handle traction problems AT LEAST and lose the fucking dtm and dump the exhaust under the car.

OK I was trying to edit my post but passed the 30-min mark so I'll just repost it here:
I know I'm being an asshole but what you stated is retarded. I had my SR and transmission on the hoist at our house the same week my roommate had just his 302 on the hoist to drop into his Fox-body coupe. My friend is building a 400rwHP+ NA LT1 right now on the stand and he's got a Chevy 350 in his '55 wagon. I know what I'm talking about, and you have no freaking idea how much the V8 in that car throws things off.

160% correct, those blocks can take high loads for a reason. They are strong/heavy. There's absoloutely NO way around that...

regardless of the increased weight/whatever i can appreciate it. It's uncommon and very interesting. I have NO doubt that if i brought a V8 powered 240sx to Japan i could make a mint off of it. It's a very neat idea. Ok, it's not as good for Auto-x or maybe even drifting now, big deal. You could even compensate for the increased weight with a custom suspension. In the big scheme of things, that car will probably be a daily driver/ occasional dragger, which is just fine. Some of you guys are acting like it is no longer the 'end-all, be-all' because it has a V8. Note to you: It wasn't that BEFORE the V8.
As much as I love the S chassis, I admire it for what it is: a fun car to drive that handles pretty good and goes fast enough.
It won't beat a ferrari or whatever stock because it wasn't meant to.
Sure a honda can do the 1/4 in 9 seconds (or whatever they're down to now) but that honda sure as shit isn't stock.
ugh
i've ranted enough. people need to get off their '240sx is god' high horse.

Anyone else think that's a bad Photochop job???
Look at the 2 engine pics - The air cleaner is clearly a different size in both pics.

its not photoshopped dude, its real. It's just the camera angle....the first shot is takin right at the fender, the second shot is takin from farther away looking down making it appear to be smaller. A lil somethin i learned in art ;)

A battery weighs ~50lbs. AC weighs ~50 pounds. If you strip AC and move the battery to the back, you can add 150lbs of engine and still have the weight distrobution of a stock car.
Something to think about.

That car is gonna be nose heavy. More than half of that engine is sitting in front of the strut towers.
I'm pretty sure a 350 weighs about 600lbs. Take 150lbs on the nose, and it will handle different. Maybe not a huge difference. but I would definately say it'll have a tendancy for corner entry push.
But it still has the multi-link rear suspension, so it will still handle better than a Fox-body.
That car is the product of a couple muscle car guys that probably had a great idea to throw a 300+ hp v8 in a light nimble 240sx, and rock some snobby muscle car guys asses with it.
When you already know carbed v8's.. why learn something else? Stick to what your good at.

Yeah I really hate it when people screw up good handling cars by putting in heavy engines, like those RB25's. Won't handle at all.:mepoke:
