OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) -- Street racing may be to blame for a car crash that injured several people, including a 6-year-old girl in Ventura County.

Police said a Ford Mustang and an SUV were driving at a high rate of speed and collided in an intersection in Oxnard on Friday night.

The force of the impact caused the SUV to flip over, trapping the passengers inside. Firefighters worked to extricate the victims.

They were transported to the hospital with serious to life-threatening injuries. Their conditions were not known.

No one was arrested or charged with any crime.

so an suv and a mustang were racing? and there was a child in one of the cars? (i'm assuming she was the big suv). whoever was driving with the kid should lose custody. damn!

but it just said they were driving at a high rate of speed...for all we know it could have been some kind of road rage incident; that happens every day in socal. either way the people driving should have known better.

Ok the link provided tells a different story then what OP quoted...

The mustang was racing another vehicle, the mustang blew a stop sign going through the intersection, thus T boning the SUV.. SUV was not racing with mustang according to whats quoted in first post..

Thats my friends family.. They were getting home from the mall when that guy in the red mustang blew the stop and t boned them as he was racing...they flipped the dad is in critical condition. The little girl has internal bleeding and is trying to make a recovering..

So did the family in the suv see a second car that the supposed mustang was racing? If there is no second car, then how could they call it street racing? Mustang racing itself?

Nope cuz where this all happened was by an industrial area so not a busy place. And you drive thru the industrial to get to there neighborhood

All I got to say is mustang... an american form of a honda which attracts douchebag drivers, hope the victims recover just pray and ask god to help
