Yup everything is assembled. I took the valve cover off to show the intalled parts. Pix of the motor parts are from during the build and were taken on my pool table.

anfitch is trying to tell you that the motor (or more specifically) the head is a redtop head... valve cover aside, its a redtop... no fins on the front man, not that it matters, they are all the same and yours is built. he was just pointing it out thats all! good luck dude, its a great deal!

I'll ask around,I really wish I could buy it..:'(

It is definitely a redtop head, blacktop heads have small fins all over it, yours is smooth. It doesn't really matter anyway at this point, you've built it to the point that it's better than either of them. Just pointing out the facts. Great deal for someone, should sell really quick.

I do apologize...I got the redtop head built and not the blacktop though I kept the blacktop bottom end because the spare redtop head I bought from a local guy had 12k (showed me odometer off clip he pulled). So ANFITCH I will man up and say Im sorry. But whoever gets the set up will also get the spare blacktop head with goodies still in it since it will just be a paper weight for me.

Its OBO so throw something reasonable. At this point I just want to take the cash and dump it right over to my new project so I am not pressed on a selling price as long as its reasonable.

if he put a red top head on it then he would take the head with the fins off. theres no way to tell if the bottom end is from a black top or red top and they are different. the oil pickups are different i think

Yes they are and if you were interested in buying then I could take the pan off to show you pix of that. At this point the motor is so built it really doent matter which one it is but yes your right the pick up on the block is slightly different and from memory reading articles years ago slightly better and less chance of oil starvation. Still dont understand what your trying to say about the fins though? The entire head was replaced with a redtop so the fins went with it since the fins are molded into the head that was removed. I can post a pic of the blacktop if you would like...
