I just purchased a 96 240 at an auction and I am trying to find out whos it was before I got it. Judging from the miticulous care the owner took of it he/she is someone on this board or another 240 board. I bought it in Illinios, and has been in a side collision with what appears to be a curb. It is black 96 se manual with a speedoptions.com sticker on the front windshield and a sticker for a team cald import xtasy in the center councel. any leads would be apreceated. I am planning on completely restoring it to its original glory and then turboing it.

FIRST STEP: remove all the blue crap from engine bay, and especially from the hood prop.
Looks like a fun project. Good luck.
(sorry I'm no help in the owner search)

Thanks for the imput. I already ran a vin check and it came out that it was someone in decatur IL. but it wouldn't tell me who excactly. before I started work on it I was hoping to get some imput from the previouse owner. I don't think that I have ever seem a cleaner engine bay, besides the blue tubing.

You will probably not find out. If the car was at an auction, that means they did something bad, and the police or insurance company reposessed the car because they did not pay money or commited a crime. In essence, the dude owed them something, so they LEGALLY stole his car. I dont think anyone is gonna come on the board and admit that happened.:D

You make a good point. The way I look at it is that who ever owned this car had alot of pride in it and they might want to know who ended up with it and might even give me a run down on what they have and haven't done to it. I also thought that since the person was from decatur IL maybe some of the chicago or midwest people might be able to direct me in the right direction.

Check out the website on his windsheild, check what maybe could have been bought their, and see if anything for a 95 s14 was bought their. Just a thought. And if it was in a police sale, i dont think i would want to find the old owner cuz more than likley he will want it back

I dont really want to put his buisness out there but it wasn't a police auction. I tried the website but I dont think anything is on there anymore about his/her car. they lost it last winter/spring.
