i raced my friends 94 max on the 110 and 91 last night, and found out contrary to other ppls beliefs that the sohc have speed limiters...catches you by surprise the first time didnt it? well needless to say on the straights it was no contest he had the 6 and no speed limiter(or a higher limit)...well anyways after running it at about 110 for 40 miles, i parked, stepped outside and smelled something...i looked around my car and saw that my bumper had started melting around my obx exhaust...now the tip has red burned into it and my bumper is melted around the tip, and it rattles like crazy...oh well

Ouch. Sorry 'bout the melted bumper. Man, that bites.
As for the speed limiter taking me by surprise, nope. I found that at 114 during the dealership test drive. =)

get a nice aluminum heat shield to put on, it'd cover up the melted spot, and by the sound of it, it'd actually be functional for you contrary to most people who have it

it took me by surprise when passing a beetle in the slow lane at 115 and #### near being launched out of my windshield. it isnt badly melted, its not burnt, but just like the plastic is dripping on the mufler and whatever didnt drip is just kinda gunked up on the bumper. now it rattles when the muffler hits the dripping part, and sounds nasty as ####. well its about time for n1 dual eh?

the exhaust was touching the bumper from the beginning right? i always stressed that to people, but they dont listen.

ouch, now I see why most people dont get the obx exhaust. is there any other problems you have experienced with the exhaust?

no i know how hot exhausts get, i had it on for a few months without any problems, i just guess with the displacement and how hard i was pushing it it just got REALLY freakin hot. BTW its not touching the bumper, i'm stupid for putting it close but not retarded enough to have them touch eachother.
