Main plate is CNC'd from 1/8" aluminum
Inside radius of the gauge openings are beveled so the gauge will drop in when angled
ABS angled rings are prepped to remove all casting nubs
ABS angled rings are trued on the bottom side as they do not come 100% flat
Main plate and rings are texture coated for OEM look
Painted with high quality SEM Satin Black
Includes aluminum mounting brackets that can be modified to fit your particular gauge(see pics below)
The mounts can also be modified to make a rock solid mounting system for the dash(see pics below)

Example of how you could drill and tap the modified brackets and insert threaded rod into it. Then simply use some aluminum or other material to make a "washer" to span the back of the vent opening. Finally some simple wing nuts and you can easily attach it all from the back. This will also help really suck the plate into the opening of the dash.

UPDATE:

As I have mentioned in this thread, I can have any combination of gauge placements fabricated. For example: Chase from Chase Bays wanted a plate with one 52mm at the end and that was it. No problem! I can also do triple 60mm non-angled, double 52mm with vent angled or non-angled, any # of 52mm or 60mm from 1-3 or any combination of. Note: these are all special order so allow up to 4 weeks for delivery. Price is the same($75 shipped) for all angled plates and $40 shipped for non-angled. NOTE: 60mm cannot be angled in the standard fashion. All pieces are finished just like everything else: textured and painted with high quality satin black to best match the OEM finish of your S13.

I do not because there is no demand for them. However, I can have one CNC'd if you would like. It would probably be a month or more though before I put in another order to the metal shop.

I do have a dual 52mm holder, but it has the slots in between for the vent to still function somewhat as a vent. You could still do the angled rings on it if you wanted. Otherwise like I said above, if you want the dual holder without the vent openings, then I would have to special order it the next time I place an order.

I do not glue them, that's what the mounts are for. You need to modify them for the plate and your specific gauges. If you do it right, everything should be held together tighter than a gnat's ass stretched over a rain barrel.

How much extra for you to machine me this extra little bit? I want these things to fit as tight as possible!

I just go to Lowes or similar and pick up some 1/8" thick, 1" wide aluminum strip. You can simply cut it to length with a hacksaw then drill a hole in it. The hardest part is drilling and tapping the hole in your bracket for the gauge. You would then need to get some threaded rod and cut that to about 2" long.... then some wing nuts. Done!

They sandwich between the gauge and the plate.
They don't mount to the plate, they mount to the gauge. They have to be modified for each particular gauge. For example, the legs have to be cut down to the proper length depending on the depth of the gauge being used. Then the mounting holes may have to be modified depending on the gauge. For the Defi's that I used, the openings in the bracket lined up perfectly with the mounting screws on the gauge. However, as you can see in the pics on the first page of this thread, the holes did not line up with the mounting posts on the Prosport gauges. So I had to file out each hole towards the inside in order to get them to fit properly. Then once you tighten the bracket to the gauge it sandwiches the plate and angled ring between the gauge lip and bracket legs.
Those were a customer's Prosport gauges.

Toby, these are NICE. I popped the vent piece in my dash by itself and it sat pretty damn snug because its machined so well. I will be posting some pics I took with my iPhone to help people understand how to install these (but its pretty darn easy). The only mod you need to do is cut his metal brackets with some tin snips..and your done.

You can see how I cut the supplied metal mounting brackets to fit for each gauge. Yes, I realize the Wideband sticks out further than the autometer gauges, but I wanted it in the middle. However, since they are angled it does look a little awkward. I may end up putting it as number 1 gauge instead.

Sure, they are $20 shipped unfinished or $35 shipped finished. When I say finished I mean I true the bottom so that it's 100% flat, I then use a scotch pad to knock any casting marks off, then I finish it off with SEM texture coat and SEM Satin Black. Otherwise they are just the standard discolored black plastic and not completely flat on the bottom... but close.:)

You definitely can't do the angled rings in the 178mm of width you have in the radio opening. With the rings all in a line touching each other they are 191mm wide. So the only way it could be done is to mold the rings in place to the surrounding plastic. It would be baller, but maybe out of your price range... $300.

If you don't want them angled then the gauges could most likely fit width wise depending on the gauge. Most 52mm gauges have a external diameter of 58-59mm. So at 59mm that would be 3x59=177mm. So as you can see they would BARELY fit. I have seen some 52mm gauges with extra large bezels that would not fit in there. You then may have a height issue. The radio opening has 105mm of height. So if you put that same 59mm gauge in there then you would only have 46mm of height left for your radio to squeeze in there.

So needless to say I don't offer a plate to put gauges there. There are too many variables with gauge design and where exactly you have your radio mounted. You would most likely need to mount your radio as low as it would go just to squeeze the gauge in there... and it still might not fit depending on the gauge If the radio had a flip down face then forget about it. Now it could possibly be different if I had your car at my shop. Because then I would be in control of how/where the radio is mounted etc. But it's impossible for me to offer a generic plate that fits there for a random gauge.

Let me know if you want something molded there though.

Could you make a single 60mm Gauge holder for the steering column of a 240sx? OR the A-pillar? But I'm from Australia so would need to be for the right hand side A-pillar (passenger to you guys in USA). Love your build too. Quite the genius in terms of coming up with customizable stuff!!

I wouldn't for the steering column... there's just no way to make a 60mm gauge look good there. It would look like a huge goiter or something. I typically don't do the A-pillar either for the same reason.

For your MP3 player you can simply use an aux cable and run it directly into an amplifier.

Damn, those things are mega deep. The U-shaped brackets I have most likely won't even work on those. You will need to come up with your on way to mount them.

yea i might have to suck it up and buy the stri gauges i believe theyre much thinner and have better reviews, from what ive read theyre the next best thing after defi

For everyone else that has prepaid for a setup, I apologize that it has taken this long. My machinist took forever to get back to me... only to find out that his CNC is out of commission. It will not... the plate itself is exactly 2-5/8". So if you cut a 2-5/8" hole into it there would be nothing left. The largest you can go is 60mm and that's a tight fit.

You can simply get them from Summit. They will come just as a black plastic that is kind of nasty... but most people just leave them like that. For my setup I true the bottom, scuff the entire thing to get rid of any casting defects then texture it in a satin black.

UPDATE for anyone waiting on their gauge plate from the last batch.

I emailed everyone a little over 2 weeks ago informing you that I would be receiving the raw plates from my CNC guy by early last week and I would get your order shipped out by the middle of last week after my finishing process etc. When I told you it would ship out to you last week it was because my CNC guy assured me I would have them them early last week. When I didn't receive them by last Saturday I jumped on him and he apologized. He said he got them done this past Sunday and shipped them out Priority mail on Monday. Well, I still don't have them. I have a tracking #, but USPS tracking #'s are worthless... it only tells me it left their facility on Monday. If I don't have them by tomorrow, then I'm going to try and find out what's going on. USPS Priority mail is suppose to be 2-3 days and is never longer than 4 days.

Regardless, I'm going to refund a portion of your payment for the delay. It's not right that it's taking so long and I want to try and save face with my customers. So I will be refunding you 33.3% of the purchase, which comes out to $25. Hopefully this makes up for the delay. Please let me know if you have any concerns or would prefer a complete refund. If you are satisfied with the partial refund then I will let you know once I receive the raw plates from the CNC.

I'm not sure when the next batch will be ready. I'm going to try and find a new shop that will CNC the raw plates for close to what I was paying before. As of now I'm going to put ordering on hold until I can get the current situation straightened out.

I received the plates today... Finally! Over the weekend I will do my finishing process, get the angled rings all finished, get everything ready for packaging and will be shipping the product out first thing Monday morning via 2-3 day Priority Mail. As stated, you will be receiving a partial refund once the product ships. If you have not already contacted me that you want a full refund, then I will assume you are fine with going ahead with the plan.

Yes, it pops out through the front. I have only removed two in my life and that was like 6 years ago. I can't even remember how the release tabs are situated. But you definitely do not need to remove the dash.
