how can u tell with out running it???
(this tread is actually for 2 turbos a T28 from an S14 and a T3 from a merkur)
other then shaft play ....what else can u do to see if it leaky or somethin???
also on the T3...ok i got it off the merkur (in running condition) and i took it home and did a kind of leak down test: put oil in the center section stood it up on its exhaust side let it set over nite and the oil seeped out the exhaust side.(ultra slow..still had oil in center section) now after rebuildin the T3 (cuz i thought it was leaky) it still does the same thing. i replaced everything (rebuild wise)....so...am i screwed?? or does this magically seal up under pressure?? (y would it seal...idk):wtc:
