I bought the car this spring from KY. In it's 13 year life it never seen snow and has NO rust on it now. I really don't want to drive it through a Wisconsin winter but I don't think I'm gonna have the cash to buy a junker to drive. Do you guys think it will be allright if I wash it often and get the salt off?
P.S. If anyone has a POS they want to sell me cheap in WI let me know. You'd be greatly helping out a fellow zilvia member.:D

It'll be fine. Just hose it down with some water to get all of the salt off. Washing works too. Make sure you get the places where water can stand really clean. Wash off the insides of the fenders as well, my rear qtr panel has been rusting like a bitch ever since I got the car. Man, I gotta get it fixed.

Yea just hose it down and keep it clean after every snowfall. I usually just take it through a carwash with the undercarriage spray and roll through it very slowly.

SteeFlo hit it right on the nail, the secret is cleanliness. Ihad mine in ALaska 3 cold years.....and no rust....use the drive thru car wash with under carriage washing every week during winter, specially when the salt is being laid on........ it wont rust. A good undercoating (regular cans spray) and do it yourself in the summer time, just to keep the hard to reach spots nicely clean and sealed.
