owned a crx si for a couple of years.
was my fav fwd that i had direct experience.
might not have been the quickest car, but certainly one of the most fun to drive.

they are getting more & more hard to find.

personally I like fwd (as I do rwd & awd), and would never consider myself a rwd elitist.
I'd take well set up fwd car over a shit rwd car any-day.
I had 08 civic si, very close to stock, that was a whole lot quicker in auto-X than my s14.

First brand new car I ever purchased, awesome on gas, and with simple mods can handle quite well. And you know that line "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow." really holds true with this car, it definitely isn't fast but driving it like you stole it and not worrying about speeding tickets is quite the entertainment.

cant go wrong with a civic... accord are decent. if you want comfort go with a tsx. if you want the cops to follow you get a crx.

why not awd? an older impreza would be sweet around there.

I would love to find an old escort 87' i do believe when they came with a turbo.

If i ever buy a new car it will be a Yaris or a Cooper, unfortunately that's a while off since the zed is a money pit at the moment.

Subaru's are awesome in Colorado, and everybody that lives on north slope and in the bad areas swear by them. But, for that reason alone, they are like 240's (no offense) even the crappy ones here go for a bit of a premium. There is a nice wagon in my city that a guy dropped on ce28n's and sprayed it that chilli pepper red-ish color from the porches...that shit makes me jizz every time i see it!

hondas here are a No-go, super targeted by thieves....and cops. The one im borrowing atm has been broken into 6 times in two months.....(concealed weapons permit on the way)

whatever you find on kijiji that runs and is in decent shape. no point in spending alot of money on a winter beater. if there is anything that looks like a steal of a deal, drive it over the winter than sell it in spring for more

Ive been eyeballing b14 & 15 the QR is one of my most desirable engines, but for some reason i want to get away from nissan and see what its like with "other" cars. just to clarify i have three nissans so no hate from me.

Dodge neon srt-4. Might be a tad pricey for a beater but I guarantee its the most fun you can have for a stock fwd car. Plenty of power, slap some all seasons on that bitch and you are set. I loved the shit outta mine and took it snowboarding numerous times in Flagstaff, AZ. Never once had a problem. Im sure you can find one around or below 5, plus if you want some small mods for more power they are cheap.. just my .2

I daily, well its more of a beater, a 96 Maxima. It has plenty of power and if you want they did come 5 speed. You can get them for a good price also, people seem to let them go cheap. As far as comfort and ride I cant really speak for since mine is a complete turd.

Before I sold it for my 240, the Legend on the left was my winter car. The one on the right is my daily now. They do very well in the snow and you can pick them up pretty cheap. They are comfy and you can get them with heated seats, in an auto/5spd/6spd.

Ok here goes they drive great, they are fun to drive. They get reasonable gas mileage, 30 mpg freeway and besides having wishbone front suspension the P10 has multi link rear. Sorry P11 you don't but you do win out in the more modern looking car department. That aside my P10 has served me well and this is my second one as a daily.

I'm in the same boat as Dave, except I bought a P11.

Cheap, easy to maintain, great gas mileage, and definitely comfortable. Just fucking hate the suspension set up on it. Rear beam sucks so bad. Not like I use it for sporty driving or anything like that anyway.

2nd gen Ford Probe GTs/MX-6's are nice IMO.... super cheap, good gas and decently quick.

It is hard as hell to fine one, but if you can get an 88/89 Maxima 5 speed in good condition it would be am awesome DD. I had to get used to the much shittier gas mileage of the S14.
