D Drug Origin S14 Coilovers
Price: $1,000 OBO, plus shipping
SUPER RARE. I don't think more than 50 of these units were manufactured. This set is not only NEW, NEW, NEW as in never opened or mounted, but includes a second set of struts for a total of six. I'm not sure for how long these were available, but they've since discounted. RARE, yo.

Features
- 40way adjustable dampening. Adjustment knobs are mounted on top for easy access. Shocks were valved to specs according to feedback from various tests which included street, drift, and circuit.
- Pillow upper mount for front and rear. Front comes with adjustable camber plates.
- German make spring(ID 60mm) is utilized to ensure minimal sagging.
- Piston Valve Diameter - Front 46mm, Rear 40mm
Piston Diameter - Front 22mm, 14mm
Monotube casing is designed to take much abuse and load.
- External resorvoir tank (40mm) is standard on front and rear shocks. One of the flaws with short stroke body shocks is the insufficient oil capacity. External resorvoir increases oil capacity to provide stable performance.
- Super short body. This means even at the highest setting, your car will be low.

I wish I had a way to see some feedback on these Coilovers... It says its from Tougefactory but I cant find them anywhere. Also, what is the spring rate.
And can anyone vouch this guy?

Krave, I can't give you any info on the coilovers since I never installed them. They're supposed to be awesome, but I have nothing to go by on what "awesome" means. I can tell you just from holding them and looking at them the quality seems to be there. Maybe someone else on the forum can chime in?

I don't know how many of the "old" 240 guys are still on this forum. I've had a 240 of some kind since 95ish. I'd be happy to take more photos and/or video if you need, but you should do some research on the coils to see if it's what you need/want. The shipping to Canada might also be a bitch.

Either way, I'd be happy to get you more photos at very least.

I found a post from '05 from a Zilvia member's experience with the D Drug coilovers:

"Ya, Zoltec, White, and myself all ran DDrugs at the event this weekend. I feel they were simply outstanding. Great grip and control when i wanted it, but i was able to put the end out and keep control throughout the drift. These made it alot easier for me to be consistent corner to corner. I went with the 10/8 spring rate which some say would be to stiff, however i think it really rocked on the track.

Would i daily drive with them? Yes, but i dont really care about how they ride i care about how they perform. I rode with Zoltec who has 8/6 and it seemed very similar, not much of a difference in stiffness. I have a hatch, and with stock rims the back will bounce with no weight in the back from the stripped interior and just how light the 240 is.

I would strongly suggest getting some 17inch rims with low profile tires, which will eliminate the bounce created by the higher profile tire "flexing". I ran with stock rims for a couple weeks, until my FN01RCs came in, and it made a huge difference. The downside is because they are so low even at close to their highest setting, you will need to flatten the piece of metal at the top of the wheel well. My FN01RCs are 17x8 +35. I did not get as much negative camber out of the fronts as i wanted, but -1.8 is close enough for me. The backs however will be close to -3.0 with stock Rear Upper Control Arms (RUCAs). You will need RUCAs. The camber was way to far off to simply leave it. The clicks are frim and definetly noticable. Yes they are 40way adjustable, but i just make my clicks 5 at a time so their 8way. No real big deal, but there is definetly a difference from 10, 20, 30, 40. That's my quick and dirty. Rob and Dave at TF are great and always willing to help you out and answer your questions."

I'm definetly thinking about it.
Its kinda risky/hard to trow 1k to someone that didnt get feedbacks.
What did you mean by shipping to Quebec would be a bitch? I bought some stuff already and they sent it Parcel and never had any trouble.....yet.

shipping to canada is a bitch, just because you are not
the shipper that's why you think it's a cake.
I dunno why most canadian think they are part of usa,
it's a different country with different laws.

First of all to put everyone in the same basket.
Second did I say something that offended you, I dont think so. So why in hell are you answering a question I wasnt even asking you.
Third it was a question learn to read.
And last of it even if you flamed me you didnt even answer the question.

Hi Krave,

I don't think your last comment is directed at me, but I know that shipping to Canada is costly, especially on a heavy item like this. Also, last time I shipped something to Canada (I' also on the rx-7 forums), it seemed to take forever.

There's no real issue sending these anywhere, but I want to be upfront that shipping is more for some reason and takes longer to Canada than to, say, New York.

Sorry if I don't have any feedback; I can't do anything about that, but you don't have any either ;)

Bump for OP. interested in seeing some more pics and specs on the brakes. I'm concerened about clearance.
Rotor size, comes with lines, pads, etc etc.

can you adjust the height without messing with the preload on these?

exhaustnote

smellslikecurry, I don't know. I think we'd have to ask someone who's used them.

I'm going through my garage to try to get more photos for everyone.
