3k for a car with knocking motor? Yeah

It's not knocking, its more of a ticking sound. Just replaced the rod bearings because thats what we thought it was. Their was no abnormal wear on the bearings. No metal flakes in the oil.

If it ran fine I would sell it for 4k but since it doesn't 3k. With that 1k you could easily fix the engine or swap in another ka.

Im betting on wrist pins. Same thing happens with a z32 NA that has turbo's slapped on it. The wrist pins are the weak link causing the motor to sound like a knock. Stupid easy fix. Remove manis, and timing chain, remove head, unbolt rods, take fubared rods/pistons from current motor to a machine shop, numbered and have them weigh each assembly. then have them match weight with a new set of pistons/rods. replace all bearings in the motor. Down time would be a week. If you want to get stupid rebuild it completely.
