Planning on hitting up Vegas with my gf for the first time ever in August. I'm sure many of you on here have been there before and so it'd be great if some of you guys could chime in with your thoughts, opinions, ideas, and suggestions etc. on anything Vegas related.

Current questions:
- Is it worth renting a car? Or is better to taxi? What are the rates like for both?
- Which hotel(s) have you had a good experience at? What was the price like?

don't rent a car, stay at the wynn, goto as many clubs and pool parties as you can. Try an hook up with some promoters outside of clubs or if you know any, that will be your best bet in getting into the clubs/pool parties.

I pointed out your problem.

Stick to beer, or you wont make it till 10am the next day.

My first couple trips, I just didnt sleep from friday night till the plane home sunday morning.

Only sleep for 2-3 hours at a time, and keep sipping beer.
Its a game of tag, and your hangover is constantly following you. Sipping beer and not sleeping for long periods of time is the only way to ditch it.

gamble away $100 or $200 all weekend, but on limited stays at the tables and the cheap tables. Your not gonna win, so dont post up. treat it like a novilty.

The NY,NY rollercoaster is a help to wake you back up at 2-3pm saturday, when the no sleep and 15 hours of drinking beer starts to make you sleepy.

Dont spend more then an hour in a strip club, and no more then $100. They are a novilty too and your not getting anything out of it but the story.

enjoy the pools.
eat a lot, your stomach needs it.

This. Chat everyone up you can. My first time in Vegas I saw the cover charge for clubs and said WTF. I ended up chatting people up and getting in free. Ask waitresses at restaurants or hotel bars for a hookup, I was able to get numbers this way and didn't have to pay or wait in line at clubs.

Hit up the Cosmopolitan, the chandelier bar is amazing. Your gf will love that and the club in there is nice. Fremont street is also great.

This, and do it during the day and afternoon.
Door people like to take money from people that are just desperate to get in.
And get a lot of options, So you can bounce around numerous clubs and in and out of casinos all night.

All of those questions can best be answered if we know what your VEGAS BUDGET is like... are you like a would be baller or a real baller LOL...

I love the cosmopolitan and city center suites. I use them for photoshoots quite often. But they are a bit expensive. The earlier you plan/reserve your trips out the better. We reserve flights and rooms about a year out and save an average of 50%. Just an FYI

If your girlfriend is talkative have her make friends with a group of girls so you can slide in with them. Thats the best way to make your way into a club without waiting in line and having to pay. And as far as drinks it's hard to control yourself because the Vegas vibe makes you want to just be waste all the time! FYI: Every couple I've been to vegas with have argued like crazy1

Only times I've visited Vegas, is for track events in Pahrump.
I might stay a day or two on Mon-Wed, after some weekend driving event.
hotels are typically cheaper Sun-Thur in my experience.

I just go there for the shows, food (buffets & fine dining), and some sightseeing like the Hoover Dam.
I've stayed at a lot of the hotels, the rio, paris, new york, wynn, etc.
I just book on Kayak.com and find the cheapest price on a decent place and go on from there.
I would rent a car, as it's hard to go anywhere on foot.

not into clubbing or gambling (always lose), so no comment on that.
don't mind drinking, and I like the fact that it's legal to drink on the streets.
this city is more fun if you're not entirely sober imo.

Far from ballin unfortunately. Poor student ftl.

I think we're budgeting around $800-1000 for the of us. Flight is just shy of $300, and so far Flamingo looks decent for the price. $300 is the max budget for hotel room and at $65 a night for Flaming's GO room it fits nicely in our budget since we plan on staying in a hotel for 2-3 nights and the other night(s) will be spend at her aunt's. Whatever money is leftover will be spent on food and other stuff I guess.

Also, she's not 21 yet so we can't party much so this time it'll mostly be a sightseeing trip.

Just went for my honeymoon over new years....

DONT RENT A CAR. Get a 3 day pass on the tram runs from mgm all the way up to stratosphere area for $20 per person. Can laso get single day passes. Or get bus passes they are cheap and go further south to the strip malls and north to fremont st.

The Cirque de soleil was pretty cool. Dont waste money on the aquariums and such because they are tiny for the price.

Dont go see criss angel because his stuff on tv is cool not in shows tho because he trys too hard to be a comedian than a magician. Maddam Tousseau's is fun. Go to the show at excaliber its a fun time.

The first night I lost $500 at the casinos cause that sh!t is addicting to me so try not to get caught up in that.

Seriously this man knows what he's talking about hehe.

I used to live in Vegas when the economy was great. Actually I still have a house out there. If you're planning on staying within the strip and old town, just get bus passes. If not, then I would definitely rent a car as it will be a bitch getting anywhere. Also, take backroads as much as possible as the strip will always be packed. Don't do the aquariums, waste of money. Do get friendly with promoters, waitresses, or locals as they all know the scene. They'll tell you the best places to go and for cheap. Locals also get discounts at most establishments.

Since she's not 21 id stay away from the strip bro. Cops are serious out here about underage drinking. But if you get drunk in the room what ever.... But vegas has alot of awesome sights like hoover dam, red rock and mt. Charleston. Especially in the summer when its warmer out its nice to get up to the mountains where its only 75*.
